The Stratix Legions are comprised of some of the most dedicated and loyal guardsmen in the Imperial Guard. The Stratix Legion was first raised during M.39 on the HIve planet Arya, shortly after an Ork incursion into the Stratix system directed at the Armory World known as Eagle's Helm. The Aryan legions were masters of close combat and trench warfare but due to the mountainous terrain, their tactics proved unless against the Orks. The Aryan Legion was almost completely wiped out and was consolidated with units from both New Ireland and Freeborne. Units from New Ireland were unique in that all peoples from the planet had a crimson hair color, and the people of Freeborne were masters of tank combat. The Aryan guardsman at first disdained having, what they considered, "lower humans" being part of their ranks, but grew to accept them as brothers once they realized the new units potential on the battlefield.

Fluff aside:

I'm creating an Imperial Guard army comprised of both Kriegish (Aryans) looking guardsmen and Cadians (New Irish and Freeborne). So far I have about 120 Cadians in various stages of being painted. I plan on having most of my Kriegish units mounted in chimeras and the Cadian troopers mounted in valks. I have 12 heavy weapons teams all with autoguns and lascannons, and 3 bazookas. I have tree scratched built Valks but i think i'm going to wait for the time being and buy real valks. My Kriegish Aryans will be made of Maxmini trench coat torsos and legs with Pig Iron Colony gasmask heads.

Right now I need Ideas on what additional vehicles I should give my army, and any special units I should buy. The Aryans hate mutants so orgyns and ratlings are out

Here are some converted guardsmen that I'm rather proud of. The one holding the helmet I made as if he were about to throw it at an enemy. Same with the guy holding the knife.

finished painting four more squads, I got 3 of them based and waiting on the glue to dry on the bases for the forth. I painted more of the platoon commander so you can see it better with the space marine head as part of battle damaged soldier.

Really dark theme you got there, but somehow, I like it! It stands out from most IG models. Usually they have some bright color on them to spice things up.

What came to my mind, should you try and paint their helmets white? I mean, for example UN troops use light blue on their helmets to stand out. Should you try white on your guys?

I'm looking into getting iron cross and four leaf clover transfers for the shoulder pads which should add light green and white, but I firmly believe that human armies are meant to be dark unless winter based lol
