This is a set of six DVDs that cover the entire facet of painting tabletop wargame miniatures and displays the Jawaballs way!

Head-to-head with James Wappel. Still, might be interesting.

Head to Head implies that he's on the same level as Wappel which he is by no means. Wappel has a extremely unique style to him that lends well to his name. Honestly I get what he's doing on this one but really it's hard to justify getting in on a "painting" dvd when he has no professional awards in miniatures painting of note. I wish him luck though as it seems some people want to learn from him.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

James Wappel is a pro in every level no introductions needed, while Mr jawa looks like a amateur having a bit of fun.

Jawaballs does painting tutorials on Youtube and on his website, he's been attached to the Armageddon charity army raffle that is given away at AdeptiCon (did they do that in 2012?). It's pretty good, and I believe his painting tutorials are more aimed at your average painter.

Problem is that I can find every day painting tutorials on Youtube for FREE! I was mildly interested in James' kickstarter due to the fact that he has such a unique style but I honestly do just as well in my painting through improvising and consulting my fellow dakkites!

I never claimed to be on the level of James. In fact I admit in my kickstart that there are many better painters than I, and James is definitely one of them. What I have to offer is 10 years of experience as an art teacher and the experience to break down what I am doing in easy to understand, and duplicate ways. But no awards of note? Not to toot my own horn but since you bring it up, I won a Crystal Brush for Best Scifi Mini, Best Single Mini at Nova Open 2011 and more Best Painted than I can count. While I can only dream of painting as well as James, I think I earned my stripes.

It wasn't easy, I think, finding painting videos where the artist demonstrated techniques; explained them? Sure. But I couldn't find decent footage of them in action. Jawaballs' youtube videos were good for precisely that reason. He had full sets demonstrating his technique and showing him painting models from start to finish - something I found very useful.

Much luck to him on the kickstarter.

It is unfortunate, I didn't notice James had his up until after some one pointed it out to me. I would have waited a bit. But still, He and I are VERY different, mostly in that he is ultimately more talented than I am. However, that does not mean that I don't win Best Painted awards! My tutorials are aimed at helping the average Joe do something he can be proud of in simple and entertaining ways. Thanks for posting this!
