I ordered a set of the new plague chaos warriors in December. I was going to review them for BOLS and contacted the company about them. I purchased a set per their email and have not received them. I have emailed them about 5 times and tried to go through paypal to get my money back. I waited too long due to not wanting any kind of bad blood between the company as I have used and liked their miniatures before. Has anyone had any issues in the last few months or haven't received what they ordered?

It is frustrating as they put out quality items and I like to use them when I can. This just makes me mad because I feel like either they just ripped me off or the contact person just doesn't care to answer anything. I would just like the minis at this point and just some answers.

Avatars of War has a very interesting way of delivering

Which is to say a really long time

I am fine with that - I just want to know if things are ok. I saw that the site states the models are shipping - and a heads up is all I need really.

It is just frustrating when they initially were very communicative and then they just stopped. Makes me worried and it appears Paypal is not going to help me with it.

The only AoW minis I've ordered (Dwarven Berserkers/Slayers in plastic) were from a third party due to all the concerns of their very slow delivery and ended up getting the squad right away. It's what I'd suggest to anyone else ordering their products. Buy from someone with a good reputation of having the promised stock.

That's a real shame. I have always been happy with their metal models, but never have bought from them directly. Let's hope this isn't the beginning of the end.

No,

as far as I know they've always been slow and uncommunicative so it's not a change for the worse, just a fact of life

like Felix not starting the KS sculpts with the standard bearer that pretty much everyone would get, nope, pick random dwarf unit, repeat and now from the concept art they might be getting excited with other things entirely

Edit: I really like what they do when the stuff does show up, but as has been said above get it from a distributor

Yep. Never order anything directly from AoW.

They've been terrible for the last 2 years at least and show no signs of changing, or any signs of *wanting* to change. Barring Defiance Games, they're probably the worst medium-size company out there in terms of customer service at the moment.

Order only from a 3rd party that has live stock levels (if you order it from them and they have to wait for AoW to deliver then things will be just as slow!).

NEVER order direct from these guys... too many horror stories :-/

Sorry to hear about your stuck waiting on minis...

Ordering directly from them is super expensive!
A box of dwarfs costs 35€ directly from AoW, but only 22 pounds (aka ~25€) from most online stores like wayland.

I'd like to buy some of the chaos warriors, but it seems to be stuck or impossible to buy!

The chaos warriors apparently proved to be too complex to cast cost effectivlyb(which is why fulfilling preorders was stalled even by AoW standards)

so they went back to the drawing board for a redesign to use fewer parts, but I do wonder if ieven after this they can't afford to make them for sale to distributors (who will require a heavy discount)

That's a shame. If I played WoC, I'd want some of the AoW models as they're absolutely gorgeous.

Yeah, amazing models.. Felix is clearly artistically genius but has absolute gak for brains logistically.

I only buy AOW off ebay sellers, there's plenty, so just do that from now on.

I'm sure you will get them eventually mind.. just keep busting his balls.

Agreed about how to get AoW. I got my Dwarf 'zerkers that way. Got it within a week and for a fraction of the cost of GW's metals.
