So last year about this time, I decided I should build a warlord titan. This year after the febuary apoc game at our FLGS I decided I should modify the carapace of my old warlord titan. This is that story.

So it's update time!






So I started out by replacing the carapace with a taller more imposing form.


Added the cowling from the original because I originally only wanted to upgrade the original. The stompa says "WAAAAA!"


Added the supports for the weapons/arms, these are now offset and different.


Added the head, making sure things aren't getting out of hand.


At this point I realize things are getting out of hand and that I cannot simply call this an upgrade. I therefore decide to pull the rest of the titan apart and effectively start over.


I currently am working on the arms and have the legs pulled apart on my desk. Will add images as I can.

My desk... what you can't see is the giant pile of garbage below the table.











This was my second attempt at attaching the arms, big blocks of foam core, it looked terrible...

So I decided to change them to the more slender supports pictured below.



In the coming days I will be getting a massive bucket of modeling putty to add detail to the base of the titan to make it look like it's destroying the ground it's walking through.
Then comes the paint.

Impressive! The size of that beast alone is astounding and you have done a great job of getting the scale this time round. What are you planning to add next?

Impressive work. I'm always amazed if i see scratchbuild models of that enormous size.
What i'd do though is close those yellow rods on top of those weapons with the putty. They currently looking a litlle bit hollow.

And have you though about adding gothic-arches along the sides of his shoulders? This would be a simple way of adding some more details on him. And it would definitely fit into the whole warhammer style.

And you could also add a killcount banner between his legs or under his guns.

I'm working on painting it, and figured I'd go with a nice tan color like the ones on the cover of the book Titanicus.

I see the words "Warlord" and "Titan" in the header and i just know its gotta be good. Subbed and veeeeeeeery interested.

I decided to name this new titan "Hyperion," but keep the number -026-

Wow, a really awesome piece. The edges of the armor could've gained from a little more details like rivets or ornaments but thats the perfectionist in me speaking.

I don't know if his painting is finished or not but you might want to consider adding something to those grey bands. They look a little bit "flat."

You have put a lot of effort into this piece and it shows. I especially like the design of all of his different cannons and the effort you put into creating detailed looking joints with all the techy bitz and pistons.
