I wanted to create some variations for my possessed and so i started converting my own. But after a while my creative energy run dry ... I wanted to create some mutations that differ from those in the possessed box ( i already own two boxes) but i need inspiration. So i challenge you: Throw some ideas and/or pictures(artwork or your own conversions) at me to get my creativity juices flowing.

Critique and comments are also appreciated.

I'm mostly need ideas for the torsos, arms and heads. This is the current state:

I'm already a fan. Even though they mostly suck on the battlefield, Possessed are by far my favorite miniatures. Please post pictures when you finish/paint them :-)

You have some mad sculpting skills. The mouth torso is evil looking.

You can take the sprue pieces the kinda look like a door handle and file it to make it look like a scorpion tail. I'm currently playing around with using pistachio shells as a bubbled nurgle like effect. Layer them like shingles. I'm preparing the shells currently so I'm not sure how it will look but I'll post pics when I do.

I looked at the lovecraftian monsters and there is some nice stuff in there. This piece for example stuck in my head and i made some updates on my possessed with the mouth-belly. So thanks for the ideas. And you also inspired me to look at other monsters and i found another idea in my shadowrun monster handbook. I might even dig out my d&d monster manual for further inspiration (if i can find it again)

On a side note i decided to not build both possessed boxes but combine one with a raptor/warptalon box to create some truely demonic warp talons. But i want to finish at least some of my other projects first

Here are some updates i did today. Sadly one of the heads is a little bit to small but i might convert him somehow. We'll see.

And i also uploaded my other finished possessed. Most of them are mostly unchanged out of the box. But beware! These are part of my female csm army so if you don't like female possessed marines don't klick on the spoiler tag Especially the steed of slaanesh inspired one is nsfw. You have been warned.

Wow these are some bad ass mini's there.The marine with the tentacles bursting down his arm is my fave.

The addition of the shoulder pad makes the model, imo, looks that much better.

These are awesome! Your green stuff (and the other material) work is very impressive. Would love to see some paint on these guys.

Thanks for all the positiv feedback. The other material(the yellow one) is standard milliput. Sadly i made those sculpts before i learned the trick to add little bit of greenstuff into milliput. If i had done that the details might have been even better.

I don't know what to think of this: It was supposed to be a mutated chainsword that turned into a mouth-arm. But i think it's to bulky.


And this is a mockup of the idea i got for my other possessed. He is supposed to have elongerated boney arms and long thin fingers. The fingers will be tricky ... Just bluetac-ed him together with some random shoulder pads. I also thought about a long tongue wrapping around the head he is holding. What's the opinion on him?

I really like the chainsword mouth arm, and the torso with a mouth in it. Hopefully you'll be able to do something with with the arm, if it's too bulky for a marine it might work on something a little bit bigger like a daemon prince?

Was lured over here by your post on the "My best conversions" thread: Those are some fantastic sculpts, even though they are all worshippers of that thrice-damned Slaanesh!

As for the serpentine Possessed holding the severed head aloft, that is promising to be one fantastic model! Why not use an actual Possessed hand like this or this to hold the head? And, personally speaking, I wouldn't have the tongue wrapping around the head: I think it would look far more evil to paint the model like it was just letting the blood dripping from the severed head run down its throat and chin...eww....

Oh, and what about pairing that very bulky "crocodilian" arm with an atrophied left arm? That should look suitably disturbing and possessed!

Didn't think of chopping possesed bits up. I somehow tend to go the hard way in my models and not the obvious ones ... But in this case i wanted to have longs spiderleg-like fingers. But now that i have modeled them i might try what you suggested on his left hand. There isn't enough space in the chainsword for that long fingers to sculpt onto.
The dripping blood is a good idea and the atrophied arm also.





This is the arm in its current state and - as i'll not use the tongue - it is probably finished. Sadly my camera setup isn't the best (and photo skills too) so you just have to believe me that there is a small vein on the back of his hand



I also worked on the mouth one. I got a nice idea for his arms as i changed the approach. Instead of thinking of mutations i imagined his wargear before the possession and instantly twin lightning claws came to mind. That lead me back to the mouth fist of the hellbrute. So he'll get twin mutated lightning claws with mouths in his palms. And as strange as i am i just started to sculpt the whole think and not use claw bitz. I'm crazy am i? ... (I hope i don't regret it later ... )

Just look at him. He just wants to be hugged isn't he?


And i don't know what possessed me but i also put this thing together from random stuff on my desk. And strangely it fit together with only minimal repositioning. The wire poking out of the imaginary ass is suposed to be the basework of a tail.

Boney arm man is amazing! Reminds me of Carnage from the Spiderman comics.

Another fantastic update! I also love the arm and fingers you sculpted on the serpentine Marine! Here's another crazy idea for you: What about having the serpent body actually coil around the body of the beheaded Marine? That would add a nice narrative touch, plus it would provide you with an excuse for including a horribly beheaded Marine corpse on the base

The twin LC guy would indeed have been rather easy to achieve using claws from the Raptor kit, but since you're so good at sculpting, why not save the bitz, eh? It's actually rather frustrating to see how easy you make it look

I made an error and i'm now a little bit frustrated. I didn't take into accout the length of the hand as i measured the wire for the left arm. Sadly i only realised it after i had glued the chainsword in and had nearly finished sculpting the hand. The lower arm was now roughly 2 mm to short. So i had to cut it and glue another piece of wire alongside. The arm is now a little bit instable and has a strange bump on the wrist where i wasn't able tho hide the second wire. An his muscles aren't as well defined as i liked it to be due to the same wire being in the way. I'll probably try to sculpt a wristguard in there to hide it and increase stability. I'll add fotos if this is done.
But i don't know if this will happen today as i have to vent my frustration on something else first.

As for the nice idea of couling around the marine: I quite like the idea but i dont know if there is enough space to fit a torso in. And i can't change the coils now. MaYbe i'll cut the bits up a little bit as if the armor was deformed and ripped partly away. Then it might fit better. (And i have an excuse of sculpting a male chest It would be a nice change to all the female slaanesh goodness i did. )

p.s. i also thinking of creating a whole log in the p&m blog forum for my whole army project. Whould you like that?

To be honest. I don't like those that much. I don't know if you've read it(i've only mentioned it once) but i'm building a female chaos army so those heads never interested me. As i first saw them i though about getting them for bits and making cultists out of the rest. But i couldn't bring myself to like them.

And as far as updates go i worked on the repaired left arm a bit. Im still not 100% satisfied but this might be just my frustration speaking and the fact that i'll always know that there is a weakness hidden under it's wrist.



I also worked on mr. bellymunch. But i still have some questions you might help me with. But first off both head and shoulders are just for scale sake and aren't intendet to be on the final model.
My questions are what you think of those fingers. And should i put claws at the fingertips? I could also put the blades of the lightnig claws on the back of his hands and use normal fingertips? And those fingers aren't glued so if you have a better idea for them i could also build something completely different.





Another question for you. Should i leave the chest of the snake one like it is or do you have ideas what i could put on top of his ribcage?

Just another small update and more questions for you:

I've added the mouths to the hands. I'm not 100% satisfied but i can't do better. And my question regarding the fingers is still unanswered. Claws as fingertips, blades on the back of the hand or something else?





I've also worked on the newest addition. But looking at the pics i probably need to change it a little as the possessed is intended to lean forward not backwards.





And the snake one is now nearly finished. There is only the question if i should add something to the chest and which shoulder to use. What option would you choose? With exception of the skull one and the one i've sculpted i have pairs of those.

I really like option 5 for the shoulder.

I prefer 2 as it still shows that it is still a possessed spess mahren, instead of just randomly mutated glargalblargal.
