We know it's gonna be a TPS, so MMOTPS? Though that sounds weirder.

I think its quite important that there is a satisfying response from the game when you get a kill you know? Like on Planetside or CoD it comes up with hit markers and a very brief overview of the player you killed.
This small feature is actually a major hook, the games wouldn't be half as fun without it.

MMO is just playing with an incredibly large amount of players online at once, it doesn't describe the game play unlike MMORPG, MMORTS and MMOFPS.
Point taken.
I should have said MMORPG.
For me BF3/PS2 ( as MMOs were fun).
Still, Im holding my breath deeply

Chivalry is much, much closer to actual sword fighting than M&B. M&B has a very clunky melee system I'd never want to see in another game. Was thinking if there was a system similar to PS2 with alerts, so now and again there will be an area, perhaps belonging to the losing team which will offer a bonus requisition reward or something and it would bring everyone together for a huge fight to gain this base. They should be called, Apocalypse battles.

Chivalry's melee is 100% skill-based and it's got a nice learning curve. Like, "Here's a wall, run straight into it!"-learning curve

Disbeliever of the Greater Good

Alright, first post on DakkaDakka. Here goes nothing.
A list of ideas for Eternal Crusade, as far as differentiating the races.
If playing Eldar, after completing your play as a Guardian/Dire Avenger (whichever you start as), you pick either Path of the Seer, which lets you play as Warlocks, Farseers, Spiritseers, and Wraithseers. Or you pick Path of the Warrior, giving you a choice of all the Aspects in the Codex. (Banshees, Striking Scorpions etc.)
If playing Chaos, when making your character, you must pick your Patron God: Khorne gives you bonus melee damage, Nurgle gives you extra health, Tzeentch gives you bonus Psychic damage/bonus XP for giving orders if not a Psyker, and Slannesh gives you... I don't know, open to suggestions.
If playing Orks, your character gets bigger, and shouts more in-combat profanity the higher level/rank he becomes. As well, Boyz have a mob mentality, I.E., if you have 100 Boyz in an area, they all get one of a few random (Small) bonuses, like extra melee damage, extra health. Weirdboyz feed off of that for Psychic attacks, and Nobz should have an ability to temporarily amplify it.
Finally, if playing Space Marines, your character gets an award system, I.E., if your character kills a dozen Orks without dying, he gets a bonus to future damage to Orks.
That's all, feel free to pick it apart, but go easy on me. First Post, remember.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Ok, corrections to my last post.
For Chaos, add an option for Undivided, which gives 1/4 of each bonus, but gives all of them. Slannesh could give a bonus to combat stimulants (health packs, if they even exist in-game), and/or a bonus to poisons.
For Space Marines, the award system should have a visual portion as well, such as purity seals.

The chaos marine in the little clip was black legion so perhaps you will be able to choose your own god or go undivided.
Khorne all the way for me.

Im interested to find out how they will balance someone wanting to be a shooter ork with a space marine. Not sure how Miguel and the team will do this.
Im not convinced with free to play orks, it wont be any fun for the orks getting mowed down and maybe getting the occasional kill on a space marine.
Competition for kills will be fierce (and frustrating), high numbers of orks smaller numbers of marines.

FFG gave Slaanesh Leadership in a manner, what with it's manner of seduction and focus on the perfect "imperfections".
Though personally I'd love to see some of the idea's from FFG go in, like some of those combat drugs from Tome of Excess, having the ability to harvest Sweetmeats (progenoid glands) from Space marines and cook them up sounds like it'd make for fun harvesting from the corpses of the Corpse Emperor.
Also Miguel and such, I suggest reading Black Crusade and The Tomes (Blood, Excess, Fate) For some good insight into chaos, they give some of the best lore I've seen for the various fluffy things of chaos, and look at the various factions of chaos, as well as insight into chaos and it's enemy xenos/Imperium. It's also a wonderful read as well because it also details out societies based on chaos and fleshes them out.

in that case I like Space Marine much better (probably) I thought the transition of range to melee back to ranged worked seamlessly! and not such a steep learning curve, although there were a lot of nuances.

Also, seeing as CSM doesn't really have any initiates (Unlike SM's Scouts, Eldars Guardians, and Ork Boys)
Will this mean we will have Cultists as the basic initiate for CSM? We could do lots of fun things with cultists, allowing cultists to worship and allow themselves to be sacrifices for rituals would be a very fun thing.
Not to mention the ability for Dark Apostles to lead large masses of weak, but numerous units to charge in ahead of the main battalions, using them in sacrifices and empowering chaos as a whole as Rituals of Blood, Excess, Plague, and Warp flow over the battlefield because of the humble and basic cultist. I'd sacrifice myself to help rip open the warp to summon powerful daemons.

i think we will see no cultists at launch, cause they have the same problem like IG, one shot and you are dead.
maybe we will have no SM scouts too so we will need no CSM scouts ^^
but i really would love to see some weak units controlled in a squad by 1 player to make em strong enough to stand against the other classes

Hmm if not then we could have Dark Apostles that could summon large squads of Cultists as an ability.

and Kommissars or Seargents for the IG who summon Guardsmen
but that would need some testing
i could imagine a system like in Brothers in Arms, you give orders to your squad and just controll the squad captain
an Brothers in Arms in a wh40k style with IG as the maincharacter would be very very cool btw^^

Miguel, I see Pax Prime has updated their site to reflect the days and schedules...I won't be going (a shame, I could take the day off from work and ride a bus to downtown, too, but all the tickets are supposedly out), but I will be anxiously watching twitter and news feeds for anything coming from you (IIRC you said in one of the dev interview vids you'll be there? on a panel?), so which day/section will you be part of?
