Looks like a neat advent calendar

So, a few months back, my daughters bought me a Batman action figure for my birthday. Somehow, he wound up 'living' in the loungeroom, with me moving him to a different position each night after the girls go to bed, Elf On A Shelf-style, which gives the girls no small amount of amusement.

Since it's the first of December, I decided to Christmas things up a bit.

Good to see a man of war in literal combat dress. Those parts go together really well, and I'm glad to see the fallschimjager combat smock going beyond. Quite a cool look.

So festive!

Slight change of pace, while I'm on holidays... Actually painting some 40k stuff again. My brother decided a while back that while he enjoyed playing, he hated painting, so asked me if I would finish his last couple of half-done units. After languishing in a box for day too long until I finally had time to look at them, I painted up the second combat squad (still needs chapter badges and unit numbers), based the whole squad, painted the Librarian's staff (converted from a thunder hammer he was running with previously), painted the tank turret and sponsons (converted from a razorback, using a model tank turret, land raider sponson plates and a plastic tubing autocannon barrel) and painted the banner for the standard bearer.

He should be quite happy with those. Beautiful work on the standard.

A little more: some recycled terminators coming together, accessories on the predator, a quick techmarine thrown together from the bits box (will be necessary for 2nd edition) and chaplain conversion waiting for some green stuff to cover the Dark Angels symbols.

Yup, I think I'm painting Techmarines with metallic red armour from now on...

Coat D'Arms Bright Gold, light coat of Army Painter Strong Tone, then a wash of Blood Angels Red Contrast.

Still WIP (obviously) but coming along.

I think you just nailed ironman's colour scheme. Looks great.

Are you sure you don't work for GW? Where they put armored troops inside armored robots (Grek Knights and Centurions), you put Vents on a vent . Your design is still miles ahead of theirs too.
