I will be disappoint if they don't use the original name they've had in the background for 30 years...

It would be kinda interesting to have Rangers getting a new name, if I'm honest.

We now have in other armies:
Rangers(AdMech)
Pathfinders(Tau)
Starstriders(named Rogue Trader Kill Team)

What would you call them if you got the chance? I'd swap the "Waywatcher" or "Waystrider" name over to them. It's gone from AoS now, so it's up for grabs.
Never mind the fact that the Eldar have had Rangers for longer then any one else you mentioned. Dont fix what ain't broke.

But you’ve got to mess up the spelling to make it trademarkable. It is the new GW way.

Also, maybe that’s just the Eldar version of a Roomba?

I do not disagree with you, but it's something I've been wondering about quietly for awhile now. Apparently Illic has been fairly busy of late, I genuinely would not be surprised to see the Rangers getting a new name and lore making them almost a Tempestus styled 'auxiliary strike force' for the Craftworlders at large.

I'm thinking Exodite too. As in, the new T'au Exodite. If it's truly Eldar, it's probably some Maiden world that got absorbed into the T'au empire and is acting as an Auxiliary for them.

At this point that's probably the only way we'll see actual Eldar Exodite models.

My bet is for Harlequin expansion, That army and line is fething tiny and the black gloved esthetic along with the weapon just fits the harlies line.

Anything craftworld related would have armored fingers and digits.

I like the Slicing Orb Aspect Warrior idea. These orbs would probably be flying drone like things with blades that dice their victims.

The hand is there to activate the whirling blades and also gives a point of contact on the model to the flying orb.

The other hand is probably holding an another as yet unactivated orb, which probably has the ball joints flipped downwards under the disk. Kinda like how the little drones we have today fold up.

I’ve always thought it weird that the Eldar, masters of gravity manipulation, never had a weapon that attacked directly via gravitational manipulation. The Imperium somehow has three or four types, but not the guys that use it to fire shuriken at people. Even the vibro-cannon was explicitly a sonic weapon last time I checked the fluff.
So I’d like it if a new aspect shrine used gravitational shear to entrap and destroy enemies.

Not sure why people are saying it doesn't look Craftworld. This is a picture of a Dire Avenger hand, showing the same small balls on the knuckles as the rumour picture..

The D-Cannon effectively does that. Though much focus is made on the whole "sucking the target whole into the warp" bit, that is only one of the actual possible effects. The rest of the damage (and the rationale for the high Strength) is supposed to come from the target being torn apart by the spatial distortion caused by the tiny localized warp rift. More likely what happens is the target gets torn apart then the shreds get sucked into the warp. Think of black holes and spaghettification

That’s not a gravity weapon though. It’s explicitly using psychic energy (which the Eldar use like we use electricity) to open a warp rift. Everything else that happens is a “normal” effect of exposure to raw warp energies, and is why imperial ships have Gellar fields to protect them while transiting warp space. Black holes can’t rip things apart in two or more directions at once, or turn them into a small potted plant.

We must be looking at different pictures, because they're both absolutely on the knuckles. I mean, I can keep posting more pictures of Dire Avenger hands if you like?

Wonder if might be a new Aspect? Not sure what, but perhaps one which specialises in tactical plans, as I’m getting a map table vibe from the device?

Autarch? Or a sub-leader lieutenant which seem quite popular these days..

I see what you're saying, I guess we can't see the upper part of the hand to see if it has the similar armoured outlines.

I can agree that the knuckles appear similar to the one one the Dire Avenger, except a bit more finely detailed and slender. Not surprising as the Dire Avenger kit is rather old.

Something like that, yeah.

After all, logistics are a fundamental part of war.

Sure, Eldar tend to hit and run, so I doubt there’s a “wagon train and supplies” Aspect as such. But one for taking the Farseer’s prediction and strategising around that? That I could see, even if they’re an aid du camp to Autarchs.

Either Craftworlds or Harlequins would be good right now.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

I'm hoping it's craftworlds, but I can totally see it being some sort of Harlequin device. Maybe some weird hologram projector to disorient their foes even more. And I can easily see GW going the GSC/Death Guard route, and just come up with more special characters for Harlequins, just to add more variety. They could do with a named character too *couch* Veilwalker *cough* or even just a Great Harlequin.

Guess we'll see what the insect egg rumor engine was for this week. Looks like Lady Olynder, but probably for Sylvaneth/Khurnothi?

I don’t really think it looks like Olynder.
More like a vampire than that.

But yeah several Sylvaneth clues, so seems certainly that.

yeah 100% Sylvaneth, one of the Revenants even has the same little claw hand amulet dangling from his ... branches, the one to the right here:

It looked a bit more like the Eldar Mines from Dawn of War, I felt.

Sylvaneth cues, yes, but also Lumineth cues as well, like that big ol’ arch thing above their head.
That said, they also seem to be a musician of some sort? There seems to be a horn/pipe there. Maybe that wakes up the eggs? Or commands whatever those spikes are on the ground (attack vines?) maybe?

The 'headpiece' isn't really new/Lumineth-y. Ylthari there has a similar one.

It looks very Sylvaneth for me, more precisely, like a bigger, badder version of Ylthari. They have a similar arch above-head, vines, and dangly amulet-bits.

Edit: I've been jinxed.
