Hey Joel, good to see you back.

Any word on what's happening with Afterlife? Last I remember I think you were revising the rules for a v1.5 or v2.0?

And i'm not sure if i'm just being dense, but I can't find anything about Afterlife on the website either. Bitz and whatlike are there, but there's no dedicated section that I can find.

I recently dug all my Shards of Liberty kickstarter stuff out of the loft to paint up and use in Stargrave when that hits later in the year. Such nice stuff, it'd be really nice to see a revival perhaps as Regiments parts.

Pretty cool mech. Is that pilot scaled like a baseline human or more like a powerarmored supersoldier? And does the mech fit a similar hight/width than an Imperial Guard Sentinel?

@Billicus - Thanks - I think I've nailed "generic sci fi" becuases people have said it "looks like" half a dozen different major mechs!

Hoping to add more options in the future to allow more variants.

@Snrub - We took down the entire Afterlife section right at the start of the first covid lockdown, along with a bunch of other products. We had to make some tough decisions on what we could feasibly keep stocked with a smaller staff in the studio.

We hope to have everything back again by the middle of the year.

We have not yet decided exactly what we will do with Afterlife, but scaling the parts and integrating them with the regiments range is an obvious possibility.

@Pyroalchi - Its ever so slightly taller and bulkier than a Sentinel, but broadly comparable. The pilot model is 31mm heroic scale to match our regiments range and most GW Guard models.

Have you tried it on a filament printer? I'm kind of interested, but I have not made the leap to resin yet.

@theophony, You can print our miniatures on a filament printer in the same way you can undercoat them with dulux matt emulsion.

Technically possible, Strongly advise against.

I have actually seen it done, using a very fine nozzle and very thin layers, but my view remains that FDM is great for terrain and wrecked vehicles and not much else.

Very nice new resin figures from Anvil went up for preorder yesterday, nice sci-fi drop troopers (reminiscent of Titanfall to my eye)

and we are DELIGHTED!

It has been an entire YEAR since we were last able to release new resin miniatures. We still have work to do to optimise our process further and get fully caught up with mould making and fully stocked but we are making good progress. We hope to have a new resin release every month going forward! We have plenty of awesome designs from the Patreon releases to do resin version of

Lots if promising future resin releases for those of us who don’t have printers, I wish you well for 2021!

If you manage to re-release the Afterlife sculpts I think this will be pure perfection - some of the robots, weapons and helmet options will really add to the modularity!

New drop troopers look cool as all get out by the way

Whereas I'd love it if more of the resin-only regiments stuff became available on Anvil Digital. I love the results of my Patreon subscription, but specifically because I can re-scale the minis down from Games Workshop scale to match the rest of my sci-fi/modern stuff.

If I could add the Regiments PMC stuff to the digital Post Apocalypse bundle, I'd buy the STL files in a heartbeat! (And I'd grab the robed cultist stuff in a heartbeat, too. The only thing holding me back there is that I don't do Games Workshop scale anymore.)

Those of you who have got good results printing the Anvil Digital Forge stuff, what printers have you used? Thinking of finally making the jump.

Last few months releases have looked great.

Anvil Industry is selling more of their B grade bits bags, but you have to get their very nice looking 10th anniversary model to purchase.

Still not a bad deal and it seems like there's always a few weapons or other parts I can pick up too.

I prefer to buy from miniature manufacturers that *don't* support the overthrow of democracy.

We will probably sell some bitz bags on their own at some point, but last time we tried, we practically set our server on fire and a lot of people were understandable dissapointed!

We've got some awesome new resin releases, originally on our patreon a few months back. Post apocalyptic survivor miniatures and conversion parts!

check out the new sprues and kits On www.anvilindustry.co.uk HERE

Thanks,

Joel

That look great. But if I build models out of bits in Blender, does that mean I have to support them myself?

While I haven't taken the plunge with Anvil yet, I just wanted to say that I've always admired your Afterlife range, and I'm glad that it seems more of it will be made available to purchase again in the future. (I.e., it's not too late for me!)

I also wanted to ask Joel if he's ever considered doing some alien models? Or mutants, or nonhuman alien monsters? If not, is that due to personal taste and interest or because you don't think there's enough of a market there for them? In the latter case, are there alien designs you've tinkered with but not released?

Just curious. I know aliens aren't everyone's cup of tea, and that's fine.

@Lord Blackfang- I've got you covered, the pre-supports are included in Blender and auto update for different model choices - it's as close to plug and play as it gets.

@Vermonter - We actually did a full set of alien bounty hunters for Patreon earlier this year. it was a lot of fun!
https://anvilindustry.co.uk/digital-alien-bounty-hunters-bundle
I don't know if/when the models will make it to resin though.

Mutants, of the chaotic variety, are coming out on Patreon next month! Again resin is possible but I dont know for certain.

Oooooo, these drones have so many cool uses. Maybe as a C.A.T. replacement for Navy Breachers Kill Team if they scale small enough?

Speaking of, is there a way to get the shotgun model from the Corporate Security Forces without having to buy the whole pack? Want to use them with the Gothic Void Troopers for said Kill Team.

Also, I can vouch that the multi-shell approach in blender that Anvil does is easy to use. That's how I made an assault cannon for Void Troopers using the Light Assault Mech modular weapon design.
