Why don't you just try doing what the rules tells you to do?

I am sure you will find your answer that way.

Why be rude? I'm sure his inquiry arose from a dispute.

Yes, the ADL does provide cover, provided that 25% of the vehicle facing is hidden from the vantage of the shooting model.

What have you seen when resolving Eldar Warwalkers behind ADLs? Do you find people play that the WW is a box (i.e. legs count and thus would get cover) or do they play that the legs are discounted because the larger mass of the vehicle is above?

25% of the facing. It isnt a rectangular shape, it is what it is - so likely too tall to get a save

I think 25% of the model is 25% of the actual model, not a theoretical "box" over the base.

I'd have to look at the situation, vis a vis LoS from the firer. I'm sure that sometimes the WW would get cover, and sometimes wouldn't. My Dreads always do, though

The walker should get a save in my opinion... the aegis stands approx. 2.5-3 inches tall... the WW stands at approx. 6 inches tall... 25% coverage would require 1.75 inches of the model to be covered which it would be... however, if Im not mistaken walkers are affected differently when taking saves especially since MCs generally have the same size base... if the MC gets it, then the walker should too

You are making the fallacy that the 25% coverage for models (monstrous creatures are not vehicles. Walkers ARE vehicles) is somehow purely based on height. It isnt.

Yes, the WW is about twice the height, however the frontage is more than 75% top heavy. Over the top of the aegis. Meaning it isnt really 25% covered.

A more evenly distributed model may well get cover. A WW is unlikely to

It's got to have 25% of the silhouette covered. War Walkers, having such a high percentage of their mass way up off the table, have a tough time getting cover from low terrain.

But it doesn't say silhouette, it says model. I had this issue at a tournament last weekend where a guy was claiming cover saves for an eldar Revenat titan because there was a small ruin (and yes he went for 4+ cover +2 from eldar shrouding ninja shields = 2+ save) which block LoS to below its knees which he claimed was 25%....

Thankfully the TO was sensible...

Which amounts to the same thing, because the empty air around the model's legs is not part of the model.
