Hey guys, has anyone else had any issues with bitz barn recently? I placed an order a week ago and it hasn't shipped yet, no answer at all from robert. Tried e-mail and phone, getting kinda nervous and wondering if it's just me.

I haven't done an order for several months, but when I did last, it took him about a week or so to "process" it before it was dispatched. Since I was in Oz, it was 3 to 4 weeks before I had the product from when I placed the order. Of course, if you are on the same continent I would expect it sooner than that.

I've stopped ordering from him.
3 of my orders have had bits issues. Wrong bits/missing bits.
Two have been delayed by more than a month longer than they should have.
1 special order I was working with him on - waited and waited - he forgot and could not fill.
I don;t know if there is something going on in his personal life - i get the impression this is a second - "Jobby."
Nothing wrong with that - I've had two "Jobbies" that I had to shut down as my primary job is my life focus.
I would like to see him continue on he had some very decent deals - it just took forever to restock on some items.

Nice to hear I'm not alone, I'll give'm the weekend but if I don't hear back I'll probably have to cancel the order.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House! |

I've never had a issue with anything I've ordered from BB, but I haven't ordered from them in a long time since they never seem to have stuff in stock any more.
Good luck with your order.

I was going to order some stuff from there once, but their bits selection is insanely limited and what they do have listed is always out of stock. No clue how they stay open.

So, in short bitz barn is good.
As you know, it can sometimes take a while to get your order shipped out. However, it will go out. I have been ordering from here for years and it is the ONLY place I have never had a problem.
Also, recently bitz barn has moved away from doing bitz (although they are restocked once in a while). What it is really good for is ordering individual sprues and complete sets on sprue.

Bits Barn is good for full kits at a discount, never had an issue with them on that. As other posters have said, their bits are few and far in between.

Still no reply by e-mail and it's still listed as processing. I called and left a msg, probably gonna have to call my credit card and get this all sorted out. It's a damn shame too, they had a decent selection of stuff.

I am having similar issues with Bitzbarn. Orders I placed mid-March have yet to ship although the items (complete sets) showed as in stock when I ordered them. Another is marked as shipped but 30 days later hasn't shown up.
My concern has been heightened because four emails over the past fortnight have not been answered. Has anybody been successful in having emails replied to? I have used the owner@ and questions@ email addresses?
Very disappointed in the customer service response.
If anyone is successfully in contact with them I'd appreciate a heads up.
Thanks

I did eventually get my order, but I think it will be my last from bitz barn. When I finally did managed to get him on the phone he claimed he had sent me an e-mail explaining the delay, no such e-mail was ever received. Basically their online stock indicator wasn't accurate and they had to hold the order until an attack bike came in. This took like two weeks, I had called and left messages and sent quite a few e-mails only to be ignored over and over. I didn't bother giving an earful over the phone once I finally got a hold of him, I just wanted my order. I get the vibe that the site is a secondary source of income and that explains the non existent communication but being ignored is the single worst feeling from a customer perspective, especially after dropping quite a bit of money on a sizeable order. And to be fair I’ve done a lot of orders from the bitz barn, in the past the customer service was much better, it’s gone downhill.
I think I’ll stick with ordering bitz from bits and kits over in the uk, it seems like that is their primary source of income and as such the communication and customer service doesn’t suffer.

I have ordered from Bitzbarn many times over the last one and a half years. It does take about 1 month or so to get my stuff, but I am getting my units at a much cheaper price than buying here in OZ.
I did have one order that really hadn't gone anywhere for weeks (no email saying it was dispatched yet). So I emailed Rob and the stuff was sent out shortly after, which still took several weeks in transit to get here. All that was needed was a prod to get the goods moving.
In short, if I make an order from bitzbarn I don't expect to see the goods anytime soon.

You know it's sad when Russian and Chinese recasters can get you parts faster than someone in your own country.
Customers shouldn't have to remind a business to send their orders.
Either get off your ass and run your shop, or close it.
Also, their online stock numbers are dismal. They don't list every item in a box, and most items they do list show as zero inventory.

They've never been great at communication but I've placed orders before and gotten them in about a week to two weeks. More recently though I haven't heard back from them regarding some questions for a few weeks and their updates don't seem to be accurate which is a bit worrisome.

Thanks guys.
I'm a little torn on this. The service was great in 2012 but so far this year it has deteriorated badly.
I guess I don't think it is my job to have to chase up people when I make an order. As it stands I'm yet to receive an order I made on 4 March.
The lack of response on customer service enquiries around existing paid for orders is steering me to look somewhere else in future which is a shame as I've given them over $2k in the last 12 months

I think it's a supplemental income for him and not his primary source of income, and if it isn't other than a family emergency/tragedy there's no real way to explain the communication problems.
