The new Tau are coming and I already have a base idea for what I am planning to do...but I only have part of the idea - I can't seem to figure out part of it.

So first, I am priming in White. In addition, after basecoat/whatever - I am painting all the little lines (and probaly the eye/visor-thingies on the models with:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_seeall_1?rh=k%3Aspectra+tex+fluorescent%2Cp_36%3A-1000%2Ci%3Aarts-crafts&keywords=spectra+tex+fluorescent&ie=UTF8&qid=1363901466

It is blacklight reactive airbrush paint that I figured I could just paint on by hand. I don't want to do a ton of the model in these (like doing all the armor) but I want the lines to stand out in BL....

My issues:

1-What color do I Basecoat? do I just stick with white due to the variety of colors of line paints?
2-What color do I paint the cloth? I was thinking that I would make it dark grey/black as it seems very neutral with respect to the other colors
3-What can I do to make it still look nice but get more style/color in there?

I am ordering the paint tomorrow and I have a box that I can do testing with (will need to figure out how to paint the paint on and have it come out nice)...The one thing I do not want to do is order a ton of other paints (not that money is a problem, just don't want to waste it on paints I won't use....lol)

Any help would be wonderful...

and as always, thanks for your time..

Maybe use different colors for different guns/lights? Blue for plasma, green for melta... etc.

What color is the armor going to be? Black cloth would be good regardless though.

The thing is, how often are you going to be playing under black light? I like the idea of using them for plasma and such, as the glow from the black light would be great. It's just that you'd never see it.

While I think a black base coat might be best to really make them pop, I don't know how much difference it'd actually make in regard to the black light re-activity.

Also, these are easily obtainable at Michael's, at least in my area. If you like them, grab some of their coupons.

As for playing under a blacklight - not very. What I AM going to do is build Tau terrain pieces that have built in blacklights.

Now, the BL part is not the main thing to the army - asyou said - I won't be playing under BL all the time and still need it to look nice...hence why I was wondering what colors might work.

I am getting the paints later today - and be doing tests of the white/black cloth with the two drones I have to see how it works out...
