Although I don't own an army anymore, I was pondering buying a small, 1000 pt Thousand Sons army. After reading a thread or two about such armies, I found that many consider them pretty unpopular while others love'em to death.

I find the idea of playing a Pre-Heresy SM army to be quite appealing as the stories revolving around them are compelling. The Thousand Sons, while not my favorite Post-Heresy Chaos Marines, have turned out to be my favorite before they turned traitor.

How popular are the Pre-Heresy armies amongst 40k players and are there venues where one might be able to play them on a fairly regular basis? It wouldn't be my only army (or even my primary) as I'm thinking of getting a 1000 pt Chaos Marine army to be able to play in the current era. Thoughts?

I love the Pre-Heresy Wolves that I'm working on. In my area, most of my buddies are building some sort of pre-heresy army. We're looking forward quite a bit to doing some of the scenarios from Betrayal.

Ive done it before fw released the models just because it's fun.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

I love the armor colors of the Thousand Sons and the Egyptian theme to them. However it's their backstory that really got me interested. It's so tragic that they were doomed from the start. They never had a chance and I can imagine Magnus kicking himself after all this time.

Do they have any errata on them for building an army? Or does one simply utilize the generic SM force-building set?
