I've got a few points left in my base Necron force. I need a few suggestions as to what to fill it out with for an upcoming tourney I'll be entering.

The list so far...

2x DLord w/Scythe, Weave, MSS
2x6 Wraiths
3x A. Barges
3x Night Scythes with 5 Warriors each

If I add in another Scythe + Warriors that leaves me with 330 points left. If I stick with the 3 Scythes + Warriors that leaves me 495 points. I could scrap a DLord for 655 points of something juicy.

I also have an ADL w/Lascan or Gun I can add in.

Just looking for some general suggestions as to possible allies that could be added in. I've already just about filled the Necron Force Org to the brim. I could just add in an ADL and a bunch more troops? A bit lost currently.

If you have access to a Heldrake, I'd go:

Sorcerer, lvl3, force axe 110

(10) Cultists 50

Heldrake, Baleflamer 170

= 330

And take the 4th Warrior scythe. Gives you really nice air-presence, some rolls off Biomancy/Telepathy to try and fish for Enfeeble/terrify/hallucinate whatnot, and a scary template from the Heldrake.

The Sorcerer is kinda squishy with just 10 cultists to bodyguard him, but he's not really integral to the list, just brings a bit of utility for fairly cheap. If you want you can swap his 2 mastery levels out for 10 more cultists, 6 troops is always nice to have.

"Dire Avengers are even great in close combat, I mean, an Exarch with a Diresword can even take down a Carnifex!!"

EUROCHEESE - You can smell it.

Ah yes, something like this is what I was looking for. A small allied portion to give me a bit of access to some Psyker abilities. My other consideration had been the Orks with Warbikers...

If you want allies, why not add GK per the Adepticon winner list?

Alternatively, add another unit of wraiths, take the extra scythe and warriors and with the points left over either upgrade to immortals (if you have models) or take another troop and stick them behind the ADL with cannon.

No reason why I don't go with GK. I just haven't really read into the codex. I'll check it against the CSM options and see what I like better.

I also don't own more than 12 Wraiths and I don't think I'm going to be expanding my Necron force anytime soon.

Big Mek w/ KFF, BP, 'eavy Armor- 100
30x Ork Shoota Boyz +Nob w/ PK, BP - 220
30x Ork Shoota Boyz - 180

500. Adjust from there. You add 2 scoring units of the best scoring unit in the game. They can sit on home objectives comfortably or easily seize the midfield.

Budikah,

Aventine locally runs the helldrake add-on with cultists which is a big hit.

The problem with warbikers or nob bikers is their cost. Although they are damn cool. You could do something like:

Warboss with PK, Warbike, Cybork - 135
Nob Bikers x4 - (PK/BP, Painboy, Slugga/Choppa, Big Choppa, Cybork x4) - 265

400 points. Pretty solid unit. For the last hundred, either add two more nobs or some ork boys/gretchin or something.

As much as I want to try to add on the Orcs I find that I already have the role covered by the Dlord and Wraiths. The Helldrakes is an attractive choice for obvious reasons but it also provides a mobile flamer template which I find is always good to have particularly Ap3.

I'm totally unfamiliar with Grey Knights but I'll go check out the codex and see what I can find.

I'm mainly looking for more long range firepower to fill this role. So far access to a Baleflamer and Lvl3 Psyker takes the cake.

Dark Angels:

Librariab w Presciennce & PFG 95
5 tac marines w Plasma Cannon 85
10 devastators w 4 lascannons.... 220
ADL w quadgun 100

You can obviosly easily trim 115 points by dropping the devastators to minimum, dropping the ADL to Icarus and losing the PFG.

This gives you either 5 TL Lascannons or 4 TL Lascannons and the quadgun... It should annoy any enemy flyers with a great chance to kill them. Otherwise it does give you long ranged anti-tank while your necrons excel at anti-infantry.

I would also have them assembled, painted, and based for said tourney. I'd actually consider this in the future to be honest - I really like the idea behind being able to litter the field with bodies. Unfortunately, I don't have the money for a shitton of Ork Boyz - it's far cheaper to get some secondhand GK *wink wink petre* or go and get myself a few CSM which I'm interested in collecting.

That said, I appreciate your suggestions.

So far it would be between the CSM and the GK. The army I play has a serious lack of ways to deal with AV14 and 2+ armor saves. Off the top of my head I've got my 2 Warscythes, Rending on the Wraiths, and Rending on the Deathmarks if I choose to bring them (along with Despairtek template). For the most part I will throw my Wraiths + DLord on anything with a 2+ armor save and if the AV14 warrants it, I'll send a DLord after it as well.

Rolling the malediction that causes them to reroll successful saves could be wonderful as my Annihilation Barges put out a lot of wounds.

I could also run the GK or DA section and grab a few of those high STR/AP weapons. I've got to read this GK codex and see what I can do.

tau commander 2x fusion blaster puretide chip stim injector, iriduim armor 170pts

riptide ion accelerator early warning system tl fusion blaster
190pts

2x 10 kroot with sniper rounds for troops

this is eaxctly 500pts, gives you some very effective units against AV 14 and 2+ saves.

The commander can DS in and fusion down AV14 where needed, of can just start on the table. If you have a few points left you could even give him shield drones or shield generator to make him even tougher. puretide chip make his shooting at vehicles almost certain to penerate. Puretide chip let him give himself tankhunter, allowing him to reroll his failed rolls and glance to pen. Using melta weapons, you can effective kill softer vehicles at 18" in one shot and Av14 at 9".

The riptide can overcharge his normal shots for S8 ap2 large blast templates. While using his nova charge for either 4d6 assault move or 3++ saves, making him very hard to shootdown/assault. Also has a TL fusion blaster for anti tank goodness.

The kroot go to ground over backfield objectives, much like cultists would, but can almost outflank for objective father upfield on the side. (stayin off the table for a while keeping themselves safe, and when they are on the table, they can also be used to shoot at monsters and terminators with thier sniper rounds.

I think this Tau ally list can be very effective, and can also be hard to kill if used correctly.

I like this... it'll either be this or the Chaos. I actually really like this addition as it will actually give me a bit more ground presence and something aside from my Wraiths to be a bullet magnet. T6 commander and MC are awesome - and the Str 8 AP 2 x2 Blasts are actually a great addition and something I lack a bit of.

Wee! Robots and more robots!

This is what I've come to with the Tau addition...

TAU
1x Commander w/2x Fusion Blaster, Puretide, FNP, 6T 2+ armor save, Interceptor
2x10 Kroot Sniper Rounds
1x Riptide with Ion Accelerator, TL Fusion Blaster, Interceptor

NECRON
1x DLord with 2+, MSS, Warscythe
3x Nightscythes - 5 Warriors each
12x Wraiths
3x A. Barges w/Tesla Cannon

I actually really like that. Real mean.

3x STR 8 AP 1 Melta - 18 inches
20x Kroot Sniper Rounds
1-2x Str 7-9 AP 2 Shots/Blasts from Riptide
6x TL Str 7 Tesla
3x Str 6 Tesla
15x Str 4 Ap 5 Gauss
Wraiths + DLord eating things up close.

The iridium armor makes the commander T5, but hey that is still awesome.
