I have been playing around with the idea of running a unit of Slaanesh Terminators kitted for CC in a LR with Dirge Casters and Infiltrating them on my opponents table side using Huron. Has anyone used this strategy and to what effect? Is the Icon of Excess for FNP worth it?

I've done this, and it works, with 1 drawback...

Keeping them in CC

Once you're out, you will die to a plethora of shooting...

The best suggestion I can offer is kitting your terminators so they are either ap3 beast sticks (2xLCs) and put a Power Fist on your champion. Or Straight up, run power fists.

Also, try to make sure what you're charging and subsequently killing has enough bodies to survive throughout your opponents assault phase. That way when your turn comes around again, your guys can hopefully move and charge again.

Icon of excess is probably not worth it if you are only running 5 men in the land raider.

slaneshy termaintors are wierd. Sure you can strike at init 5 with your mauls, swords and lightning claws(love the claw) but you would probably be just as good striking at init4 with those weapons, because you have the 2+ save. The only time I can see you really wanting init5 is if you were fighting khorne bezerkers or DC which can put out a ton of attacks.

if I were running them, i would keep it pretty simple knowing I am paying for +1 I, I would want to avoid power axes, fists and the like except for maybe 1 or 2 if i have more than 5 termies...

Something like 3 x 2 LC, 1 x Power Maul (for MCs and vehicles), 1 x chainfist (for MCs and landraiders).

If they aren't going to die to 9 to 12 LC attacks too bad for me I had no business charging them... Another possibility would be to combi-melta or combi-plasma with 1 LC the bunch... face termies and blast them with the combi-plasma, everything else you charge.

Sounds ok in practice except you can't assault with infiltrators on your first turn so why bother? Just flat out the LR 18" total in your turn and save the cost of huron or use his power on something else. You'll never get a LR out of LOS btw so your almost always 18 away from your enemy which nets you 6", hardly seems worth it to me.

The only time I ever even think about fielding slannesh termies is against necrons so I can slam them into the wraith/destroyer lord with mss my meta loves so much. Unfortunately that is usually easier said than done against a competent opponent. The main problem with using them as an ap3 beatstick is that csm already has a plethora of ap3 killiness. If you really want some ap2 goodness I suggest allying in seekers and daemonettes.

The wraiths are Init2, and I believe the lord is low as well. What does Slaanesh get you in that situation? The whipcoils also reduce you to 1 regardless of your initiative or modifiers. Slaanesh only helps by giving you access to FNP at a premium in this case, and each of the other marks are more effective for much less.
