I had a ball painting him to use as an objective for my tyranid army, but have no idea what he actually is.

I got him a long, long time ago -- if I had to guess, early 90's, but really can't be certain, too many miniatures purchases over time!

You probably are thinking of Huron and his familiar Hamadrya. And that looks different.

And sadly i have no clue what model that is and where it came from. Was it prepainted before you painted it? What material is it made of?

It was bare metal -- from the looks and feel, it was probably lead/tin mix. Much darker gray than the current pewter mixes.
