Hi everyone, I was wanting to do something different with my halberd of caliban and thought of using the axe from the Sanguinary Guard box. I was thinking just a straight up swap with the axe, or adding the blade from the halberd (or a power sword) to the head of the axe to make it more halberd like. Which one do you think looks the best? (By the way, I just did these mock ups in photoshop in case you were wondering.)

1st one is bog standard correct?
The 2nd one looks ok but with the big bulky censer on the end it does look kinda unbalanced.
I like the 3rd one. The combo of double axe head and sword look like a weapon that would be truely fearsome in the hands of an expert.

I dunno, personally when I think halberd I think GK style

if you want I could send you a terminator halberd (need $1 or 2 to mail it ) but then you'd probably wait too long to get it anyways

I have half a mind to kill you, and the other half agrees

Thanks for the offer, but my brother plays GK, so I could get some from him if I needed. And if we're being technical, the halberd of caliban is really the only weapon from 40k that is a halberd (an axe on the end of a pole with a spear). The GK halberds are more like glaives (just a blade on the end of a pole). But really I just like the asthetic of having a much bigger blade.

@Snrub:
1. Yes, the first one is the halberd that came in the box.
2. I agree with you here, so I added another version without the censer (a very rough photoshop job, sorry).
3. I think I like this version best, even after removing the censer on the plain axe version. Maybe if the axe head was bigger, but as it is, I think I like the new halberd best. I may end up modifying a DA powersword to stick on the end of the axe instead of removing the one from the original halberd. I think the halberd of caliban would look really good on the terminator librarian's staff instead of that eagle maul.

I like the updated second option personally. A two handed, double headed axe would look great on a terminator.

Ask yourself: have you rated a gallery image today?

I agree here, I thought it looked pretty sweet, though I suppose it was less of a halberd and more of a two-handed axe.

Well I really don't care if it looks like a halberd of an axe at all, so that doesn't matter. I have no problems with a "counts as" halberd. My original thought was just a straight up swap with the axe head, but I'm kinda thinking that it looks a bit too small still. If a terminator can told a thunder hammer in one hand, why would it need two for an axe? I think I'm leaning toward the axe with the spear tip on it.

Whenever I get around to making some Wolf Guard terminators, I think I might get another halberd bit and make it into a huge frost axe. I think the axe version would look much better on a Wolf Guard. (Now I'm really looking forward to doing that conversion!).

I'm not a huge fan of that massive blade on the end. Maybe a smaller one?

Do you mean that you don't like the blade at the end of the axe, or you just don't like how big the axe is?

The blade at the end of the axe - the "poky" bit.
