I always though that deathwing needed some rave wing land speeder help, I don't know the new rules and such, but added mobility and flames for hordes .

I'm sure I'll paint them eventually, and if I end up playing at some point they may get to hit the table too.

Now, I've just realized that I end up with too many elite slots by 1. Of course it's something. Can't you just take multiple detachments this edition though? Can they still share special rules since they all have the same Keywords? I could easily just double up on the Vanguard detachment if this is the case since it just needs an HQ and 3 elites.

Anyway, the apothecary probably deepstrikes with the rest of that half of the force, and Zeke runs behind the land raider as best he can. It's not ideal but what can you do? Brings us to a nice minimized 26 models counting the land raider and the dreadnought. Zeke allows for some psyker shenanigans and even an aura of death throes style attacks.



Oh, I also came into an amazon gift card recently and shamelessly squandered it on Xenos 1, so now I can make dark eldar lists too. And of course I'll also have access to the other eldar subraces now bwhahahahahahahaha!

Obvious I can't do points yet but here's a breakdown of my space elf murder pirates so far..

2x haemonculi
5x raiders
1 ravager
50+ warriors
10x scourge
10x wyches
6x old mandrakes (look more like wyches than new mandrakes)
5x hellions
8x reaver jetbikes

I think venoms are still good. I believe ravagers are top shelf so i might need to look into converting a couple of raiders, and raiders aren't considered top tier anyway.

Mandrakes too but I have none.

If it's not possible for an Archon and a pack of incubi to troll around murderizing things I just dunno what to do so we'll see!

Plus I guess I can use eldar and harlequins too!

So i needed a Belial. The sgt from the DV terminators looks the part but I had to dumb down the other two identical Sgts so he would look more special by comparison. Swapped a few other things Round and may do a few more detail bits but i think they're nearly there. Good enough for Imperial work

Haha yeah it started with that damn Horus heresy humble bundle and then 8e. I'd say SWA too but ehh meh. With only a single handful of unit types the forces seem way too samey. I'll stick to TNT for skirmish atm.

Nothing too crazy this time I hope. I have many space marines and quite a few dark eldar. I think updates and conversions are the orders of the day moving forward. May have to indulge in some of the fresher DE kits while they're still comparatively cheap...the kabalites and scourges are particularly appealing. I do have 50 warriors and 10 scourges but still...

Still on the fence for the starter box. I know I want the rules. My main opponent has a 40k army so it's not impossible we might play some day. I think I'm over the death guard especially since I'm looking into DE too. Trying to decide if the Primaris are worth the jump from ~$50 to ~$140. I'm sure eBay and later retail release will be less cost effective but I'm also not as sold on them from a gameplay aspect. The troops aren't too different from tacticals but no vehicles or upgrades to speak of. The captain and ancient don't offer much. The hellblasters are kind of ridiculous but again no transport and you can get a similar unit in normal marines. Inceptors compare interestingly to HB devs in a pod but not that much.

From a modeling stand point I think the giant marines are sweet. I'm sure I'd like the full kits better than push fits, but I'd probably have fun with them regardless.


With that index coming I may have to look over some eldar units, see if there are any fun ones I can corrupt for my darkies. Oh and harlequins. I balk at them at first but then they're basically freaky elf bards and I love bards. They're expensive though, more so than average I'd say..

Well I found you continue with your "I must paint xxxx" models before buying the core box, then by the time your done maybe the individual sprues will be out. Then you can justify only buying the marines .

True, though the legit boxen will be more expensive.

I think I'm gonna go black pads on the terminator shoulders. It will be easier and the icons on the pads will be able to contrast better.

Need to get on task with fixing/converting what needs finished, then cleaning before a prime. Can't decide if I want white or grey primer. White makes all the white accents easier though grey removes an entire step. I'm terrible with white though... so I may have to do that...

A Dakka blog exclusive, I managed to get one terminator done. I was trying to do the three that I had finished for the shadow knights but two are still in progress. Needed to finish one inst of get close on three.

Anyway here he is alongside Bitzboxius and Zeke. It's probably the most common pose in the force, I think either the DV terminator squad came with 2x of this same pose or somehow I ended up with extras.

Looking good. Great work on the Librarian.

I'm curious to see their rules. Not sure how 3 marines are gonna get much done, primaris or not. What like 3 attacks with that combat knife? Normal or possibly master crafted heavy bolt pistols maybe... Probably forward deployment. But unless they get some kind of exploding 6's or rerolls or power weapon options I just dunno what they're gonna be good at killing while off on their own.

Also they want to be painted black but would then look like Junior chaplains so that doesn't work.

I've seen the bicycle pants repaint and I do think that's the weakest part, but SKULL HELMS . Well I've resisted anyway, no 40.1k for me.

Yeah I think I have a quaint little primaris force before it's over. Serious considering working on my dark eldar too.

I'm not wholly certain how to get them myself-- I live pretty far from any other gamers.

edit: They will apparently be released "very soon," according to a month-old post on the Warhammer Community site. I don't see them on the GW Japan webstore, though.

Hmm urge to harlequin rising...but only slightly. If you could still easily get death masques maybe...but harlies cost more money than everything else that's similar lol. I think it's a 2k deldar list before any more De purchases.

If it does turn out that you can find/get them, I'd be stoked to be able to send you enough moneys to grab a Rhino-box of them for me.

Per the Wargamers in Japan FB group. they will be released in September.

Finished two more terminators. Got the last two members primed grey. Also rebased 5 finished DE warriors. I think I'm gonna bite the bullet and buy a quartet of venoms as I've avoided buying them for too long. You can usually get a majority of the body cheapish on eBay and I'll finish them with 3e guns and bits as necessary. Been trying not to buy but I've needed those for a good while.

Getting further away from the 8e box set. Given how much primaris stuff is gonna cost moving forward....just dunno. I think my resurgence of affection for DE is holding that purchase at bay. Of course I'm gonna want an airwing of their sick fliers some day lol.
