Hello everyone, sorry if this is in the wrong forum but I was wondering if you'd allow me to use my Black orc Big Boss as a counts as Ork Warboss with powerclaw, I converted him to have a terminator lightning claw instead of the axe he normally has if that helps.

Well, Orks can't take normal lightning claws, so the model is clearly an Ork (Orc) with a Klaw (Claw), sounds WYSIWYG to me!

Obviously some opponents might have more to say about it, and it is probably something to bring up before the game, but I'd wager that 99% of those discussions will go as follows:

"This is my Ork Warboss with Power Klaw."
"Ok!"

Sure, why not, fantasy and 40k orks are pretty much the same. It'd need a round base though

Provided they have the same base (not really familiar with the size of the one on a black orc big boss), i'd let that fly no problems.

I would pick it up and throw it out the window before screaming at how much I hate counts as.

Not really, of course I would allow it and the majority of decent people would as long as you don't try to play it as a lightning claw (unless you really want to and your opponent allows it)

I would allow it so long as they have the same base (as neorealist has already said)

To be honest, I wouldn't mind playing against a square base, providing it was of similar size (and they would be in this instance), as long as you don't try to abuse it (you can gain a little extra movement by facing with the point forward, for example). I played a whole Daemon army made for WHFB, I had no issues during that game. Apart from rolling snake-eyes for my charge range. Twice. But that's a different issue.

I would end with do not forget "rule of cool".

Do your best, make sure it looks in "proportion" whatever that is with Orks and paint it well (and fully!).

You do that and only the worst TFG would disallow it.

There's technically nothing wrong with this. The model is on the base it was supplied with, after all.

Right, but its a model for a different game. Its a Citadel model, so those tournaments that care about such things will be happy with it as a counts-as, but it still needs a round base to match the warboss.

I didn't mean for this particular model. I meant for the Daemon models.

USE IT. Honestly it shouldn't be a question. No self respecting war boss would make his own weapon he would rip it from a dead opponent that carried shiny or glowing things. Ok jokes aside I want to congratulate you on one thing. As a Orc player you said f it lets make this it looks cool. Then think...... Hmmm... Can I use this honestly I for one agree with everyone above me. Convert to your hearts content especially for an for an Orc army. Just use the correct bases for the respective model and no one will complain most likely the will be awe of the badass that is wrecking their army

Honestly you should customize any army to look as good as you can. Espically orks, you have literally every model that can be made from anything else weapon/equipment wise if you merely make it look good and spell out clearly what it is to your opponent.

Ps one of my friends plays orcs and his knobs all use scything talons for big choppers and crushing claws (the tyranid MC biomorphs) for power claws. All fun simple conversions that make me laugh every time I think about them.

I would have absolutely no problem with this.

As long as it is clear what it is meant to be (which it is as Orks can't use lightning claws) you are good to go.
