Not really fun to watch this report, but I gave it my time anyways. Hopefully your following Batreps have builds that don't determine the game before it starts. The Eldar build was horrible. Foot-travling to meet Necrons?

Come on now....even with the perfect powers that Eldar list isn't even close to being able to deal with Crons.

I thought it was a good video. Sure, the Eldar list wasn't the best, but that's not the 'Crons fault. I do believe the Eldar could have won that match, but they didn't seem to use any of their strengths and just charged into no-mans land piecemeal to get mowed down. I feel with some smart movement, utilizing battle focus a bit better and some of their longer ranger abilities (and actually keeping the brunt of the army together) they could have pulled this off. However, they pretty much chose to run headlong into a Necron wall of death. Whereas the Eldar should have been more conservative, it was the Necrons that played smart and safe and easily won because of it.

In that note, good movement on the Necron's side. I really look forward to seeing more.

I noticed some mistakes on the Eldar player rule wise. He was casting 3 powers a turn with fortune? It is at 2 warp charges now so the farseer can only cast one more power being at mastery level 3. Also Idk if the Eldar player is aware, but the support batteries have wounds as well and if one of their guns go up in flames, then the resulting guardians become a shield for the next one( going by the way he set his up). The guardians also take the form of the batteries stats (only the 2 controlling them) aside from wounds. No way should that battery have died to that small strength fire.

Interesting it did not know that about fortune. I also did not know what my opponent was bringing to the table. I had watched a video battle report he did a week prior and he had a wraith lord and some vypers along with the guardians and avatar and farseer. I decided I should bring a bit of everything because I didn't know what I was going to encounter. On the battery front I am not sure if you are referencing the d-cannons or missile batteries. The d-cannons got charged by the wraiths he said they were artillery and I would fight the crew. On the missile batteries I assume that it is treated like other shooting at a mixed unit. We rolled wounds against majority toughness and then he took armorsaves/LOS etc from the closest. I appreciate the feedback. I will be seeing the Eldar player tonight. I may direct him to this thread so keep it nice if you would.

Hey Fellas,

Eldar player checking in here...

I was trying out the new codex...it wasnt a matter of winning or losing, I wanted to stress the "Footdar" list and try a few of the units I havent played with in years..

And good catch on the Fortune---It is a 2 charge!! Cut me some slack guys, I guess it was a holdover...

Looking forward to taking on the Necrons again though..this time i will bring along some sneaky Eldar Harlequins!!

I'd suggest if you intend to march up toward him, taking some Wraith-things to soak up the damage, or perhaps take some greater range to ping him down a bit before moving it. I hope I didn't sound harsh, it was just that I feel Eldar should always be trying to hit and not get hit back, if at all possible. I look forward to the posting of your next game.

You should not take harlequins mate, if you want close combat, Wraiths or Scorpions are your gak

You have ruled this galaxy for ten thousand years
Yet have little of account to show for your efforts
Order. Unity. Obedience.
We taught the galaxy these things

And we shall do so again.

I want to get a feel for the units in the codex and also, I havent played with my Harlequins in years!!
Its not really about winning or losing the game, more like just getting some good licks in and seeing what works and what doesnt. Ive got a unit of 10 Scorps, but only 5 Wraithguard, saving my money for a unit of the Wraithblades.....
