Hey guys, I will be fielding both rangers and pathfinders in my Eldar army and am trying to think of the best way to make my pathfinders stand out a little bit more.

I was thinking possibly different coloured scopes/robes to show their sharpshot/shrouded skills.

Looking for opinions on what you would paint differently to make them more important looking? I am using Alaitoc as my paint theme.

One player around here has his Rangers on normal, GW bases with flocking, but his Pathfinders are on elaborate resin forest bases to make them stand out. The paintjobs are the same, but it's easy to tell the difference between the units.

Do they share the same models? If so, separate them by having one group with helmets and the other without.

Pathfinders have no models.

Pathfinders really are no different than Rangers in fluff terms. Not sure about game terms if they have different equipment, etc but they're basically just "veteran" Rangers.

If you really want to do some kind of differentiation? Things like personalized runes on the armor or facial tattoos seem to be more common among Pathfinders.

I would add grasslike or leaflike materials to the pathfinders to make them look like they are wearing guilla suits.

Different colored guns would be the easiest.

Using camo on the pathfinder robes and just a plain color for the rangers would be another. Or a different camo pattern. Either for another terrain type, or digital/tigerstripe/blotch. Or as was suggested, flock them up with ghillie suits. Reversing the colors can also work depending on how you paint them. Using the pic you posted as rangers, you do the pathfinders with grey robes with green lines

More subtle would be to do a different paint scheme on the armor underneath the robes.

Use a different colored rim around the base.
