Okay Then folks, it’s been a while since I have blogged anything but I thought I’d have a go with this lot.
I’ll attempt to update as things progress as well as linking to batreps, tactics, fluff, army compositions etc.
This blog ought to give me a bit of inspiration to get things done and there’s nothing quite like getting a bit of feedback to spur me on.

Here’s my checklist of things to do!

HQ
Archon- Done
Succubus- Done

Lelith- Done

Elites
Some Incubi- Smashed up, need stripping5 Done
5 Harlequins- Assembled

Troops
10 Warriors- Done
10 Warriors- Done
10 Warriors-BNIB
5 Wyches- Done
5 Wyches- Done

5 Wyches- On Sprue
5 Wyches- On Sprue

Transports
Raider 1-Done
Raider 2- Done

Raider 3- BNIB
Venom 1- Done
Venom 2- Done

Venom 3- BNIB
Venom 4- BNIB

Fast
5 Scourges- On Sprue
9 Reavers- 3 built, 6 NOS

Heavy
Razorwing 1- Done
Razorwing 2- Done
Voidraven Bomber-Done

Talos- Assembled

I’ve also got a dozen or so older bits and pieces perhaps to make Haemonculus bits/elites/objectives etc from.
I’m concentrating on getting a decent core done to start with so I can get playing with some painted models fairly soon. Hopefully 10 Kabalites, 10 Wyches, Raider, 2 Venoms and an HQ though I’m not sure which one yet?
The majority of the army has now been built and I’ve worked out my colourscheme so basically everything should go swimmingly from here on in!
Thanks for reading and here we go!!!!!

Here's some quick snaps the first few test models, I'm pretty happy with them at the moment. Don't worry, the pics will get better as more bits become finished.
They're not going to win any painting awards but i'm going to be able to replicate the scheme quickly and easily with very little mixing or messing around.
Questions and C+C always welcome, especially at this early stage.

So, the first five Kabalites are nearly complete, and I need to edge highlight the other side of the raider.
Should hope to get these done by the end of today.
That'll give me enough models to start thinking about painting the bases, currently they are all modelled as an urban setting but i'm a little wary of painting them too cold.
Perhaps a slightly Mars/orangey dust colour as a contrast and that should weather nicely on the vehicles as a contrast?

I've also basecoated the first 3 Wyches, I need a tiny bit more assembly on one of the Venoms before I can prime it then paint like a demon until I've got my first two troops choices!

As an aside, does anyone know what the long Smarties tubes are on the webbing of these models? Vials, splinter rifle magazines, juice cartons, Smarties tubes? Who knows?
It'd be good to paint them in a way that makes sense before TFG turns up and says, 'Why aren't the Soulpouches purple, they're always purple, noob'. I wouldn't want to upset a guy like that!

I like how these are turning out, nice blues. I actually like the bases pretty much as they are, the dark tones make the blues seem brighter. If you add another bright colour on the base it might look too toyish. Try one orange and see, I am often wrong.

Yeah, am also a bit scared of picking something too obvious on the colour wheel.
It'll look good but as you say, toyish.

Also, given the fact that I/we can choose from almost any table colour, (but dusty orange/Mars) is swaying me elsewhere!

Rise from the grave my pretties!

Okay so it's back on!
Having just started an escalation campaign with a few friends I decided to brush off these toys and have a bit of a paint.
Here's a link to the campaign in progress so feel free to cheer on either here or there.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/631406.page
The goal is to get 750 pts painted by the end of the month. I've sorted my paints and replaced some dry ones, read some books and stuff and I'm pretty certain that i'll finally get this done.

Here's the Succubus WIP

I still need to pick another spot colour for crests, tassles and the odd ribbon or two so it'd be great to get some input.

Cheers guys.

Depends how extreme a contrast you want, a lime green might work if you want it to look a bit alien and jarring. Red or purple would work too as a more staid choice.

Looking good so far, looking forward to facing these guys, never played DE before.

Me too. You're gonna have to get reading the rules then.
I went for a crimson colour for the plumes etc

Just a quick update with the first 5 and the Succubus. Crappy pics in bad light but proof that they're finally getting done!

Cheers, I hurt my back a bit on Tuesday so I've had an amazing excuse to do nothing but painting.

The blood sails are a bit ott wacky and I've done some more work on them, I've ordered some Tamiya clear red to get them a bit slicker looking and I want to use that on some of the other models too.

I normally find this sort of thing a bit gauche but I do like it here, makes them look cruel and a carefree attitude to communicable disease.

Here's a few wip pics of the first wyches and the Archon primed and ready to paint.
I'm going to have to spin out and get some more spray tomorrow for the next 10 kabalites, 5 wyches, and some more transports.
Still not too sure on a list for the campaign yet but that should give me plenty to choose from.
Also going to have to try out some colours for the bases.

Thanks, I'm still plugging away.

A while back I saw a really nice conversion done on a raider. It had the old Man o' War Black ark of Naggaroth skull mounted on it's prow and it looked ace.
So I'm currently working on that for my Archon to zoom about in.
I do happen to have one sitting around but it's pretty darn expensive for a conversion. I was also thinking about using the skull from the Great Imperial Dragon, which I also have but that's equally expensive. I also have a Terrorgheist skull but that's a little small. Hmm descisions.
I've been browsing around and can't find really anything else, any ideas?

I like it

Have you tried BftBG for the red on the sails? Not sure how it compares to tamiya clear red, but it could provide some interesting results.

Not tried bftbg yet but the Tamiya is tried and tested, i'ii get some pics when the light is better.

In the meantime, here's the Archon with his trusty Incubi.
These were some second hand lots, to the Dettol!
Lots of Dettol.
The scheme is surprisingly similar to mine, I'd never realised.

Apparently they're Klaives, I'm missing 6 one of my ebay lots showed 3 more than it turned up with, we had a row and some money was discounted but nowhere near enough.
These 4 are the only G/Klaives that I have, and only 2 more heads.so i'll have to make something up....? Ideas?
