I used chaos heavy bolters with a gargoyle head from the chaos vehicle acessory sprue attached to the front. GS closed the gargoyle mouth and put speaker vents on the front. Shave off the exhausts and square block to give it a more smoother side and you have a really good sonic blaster. A lot of people have extra heavy bolters laying around so it should be easy to get your hands on them.

About blastmasters, well, I bit ordered mine, mostly because you wont actually need that many. That and I can't think of a good subsitute.

I don't have pictures, but I'd done something similiar to plain bolters.  Gargoyle head, cut off the ammo clip and use guitar string to connect it to the older noise marine backpack with the speakers.

If you need over 30 of them cheaply, I think you're stuck converting Bolters or (better) Plasma Guns. Lots of cables and a short gargoyle head for Sonic Blasters. Fewer cables and a long gargoyle head for Blast Masters, preferably elongated with the fore-end of a second Bolter/Plasma Gun. You can buy extra gargoyle heads from Battlewagon Bits, eight old or new for USD2.

I'm basically out of Warhammer for good by now.  I don't know whether I want to hug the people who came up with Battlewagon Bitz or smack them for not doing it when I was blowing all my money on mail order.
