Morning all

I have a hankering for a new squad for Space Hulk 3rd Ed, and I would like a Squat force in Exo-Armour. I would have these as a Proxy force as I play the game with my sons and I dont want to mess with the rules to much. No need to worry about the fluff or playing them in a tournament as this is just for me and my boys as they kick my arse on Mission 10 (Again).

My idea is to base the main figures on the Scibor Steam Guard figures with additions from across the hobby. I have looked at the PP Rhulic forces and I think they are good looking mini's but I like my dwarfs beardy. I am posting here as I would like some insperation and ideas from other people. I would also like any other ideas for doner figures.

I will need to equip the miniatures with the same load out as the original terminators so Assualt cannon, flamer etc and would like some advice on what ones are out there.

I looked on ebay at the OOP Exo Dwarfs and it brought back fond memories but I cannot see a team of ten of them all looking the same also I still feel that dwarfs should be beardy.

So there you have it, Squat Terminators for Space Hulk. What do you think?

Well, if you can wait until winter, Mantic's Deadzone is going to have several types of power armored dwarves. Not to mention one of them is in heavy Orbital Drop Armor to boot.

I was so close to pledging on Deadzone. I have Dreadball and love Mantics stuff. What stopped me is that I have Myth coming soon and I can only devote sundays to painting and I average 1 or 2 gaming minis at a sitting so I could not handle the masses of scenary and mini's that came with it. I still have the Robot team to paint and then my Terraton team will arrive aswell.Damn Kickstarter and its wallet emptying capability.

The Mantic Forgefathers are good looking and I love the artwork on the deadzone ones but winter seems so far away and if its anything like Dreadball the forgefather mini's will not be in the initial wave. The "Freya" Mini is good though. I may buy her just for a character figure when she comes out.

And yes, i will try a keep a project log with some photo's for on here.

A set of 5 Steam Dwarfs are on order so I can take a look at the size and fitting of the arms. Will post a picture of the un-boxing. I am excited about these mini's as its my first conversion project for many years.

I have been looking at the various bits on offer and I am stuck for a decent assault cannon. I am thinking of maybe doing a overhanded style one? As its a proxy force for my own use I could get away with a heavy bolter? The GW Space Wolves Termi arms look good as they have the associated pipes and SF looks. The attached Purity seals and runes help with the Dwarf look too.

Anyone have suggestions or gallery links for similar projects?
