Hi all, I know I'm asking a question that may be impossible to answer, however, I've been looking at the Kings of War Ogres that are due to come in soon and was wondering if anybody knew how high these models stand. From the picture, the model in relation to the 40mm base seems like it may be at least 50mm high, but I was wondering if anyone knew approx measurements? I can't seem to find the dimensions anywhere (maybe I'm blind)

I'll let you know in a few days when mine come in the mail.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Keep in mind that if it was on a GW base it would be a further mm or so higher, maybe 2. That Mantic square base is a third the height of a GW one. It looks like the ogre may be a mm smaller than a GW one, if that. So, I'm okay with the height. A Mantic Ogre standing next to a GW Ogre would be the best test. I should be able to do that in a few days-still waiting on my stuff to come in.

I like a lot of Mantic products, their ogres are a bit iffy y cause of their disproportionate baby feet and thin legs...

I agree that they're a tad disproportionate, but they look awesome otherwise. Definitely better than the GW ones imo. I hope whoever sculpted them does a lot more work for mantic.

Got mine yesterday - the ogres are not bad, though a bit small compared to GW - about a GW ogre head smaller than a GW ogre.

Also quite a bit smaller than the Reaper ogres for the Pathfinder role playing game.

About the size of some very old Ral Partha ogres that I have, and taller than the old AD&D Battlesystem ogres from Ral Partha.

About twice the height of a Mantic Dwarf.

A bit small for the current run of fantasy - I will be using them instead for Super Mutants in my table top Fallout game. (The crossbows use leaf springs as their bows....)

Sadly, it'll have to be tomorrow: I left my computer at work yesterday on accident and forgot to grab it again today.

Some actual numbers - Not including base an assembled ogre stands 1 3/5 inches tall. 1 inch wide at the shoulders.

The included base makes him look smaller.... but he can stand diagonally on a lipped square 1 inch base, or a lipped round 1 inch base.

As an add on to what I typed, the ogre that stands straight is a mm taller than a Chaos Ogre, and a mm taller than Slugdrool as well. The one that is crouched is a mm shorter than these two models. Slugdrool is the troll that came in Battle for Skull Pass, for those of you who didn't know/forgot. Sadly, I think I left my ogres at a friend's house, back in NY.

All good, I really do appreciate you doing it, so whenever you get the chance, I'm not in any hurries

If they are too short just sculpt them a pair of heels.

But giving them fishnet stockings will be a lot of work....

Okay... something that may be a bit odd... it did not take me very long to start thinking that the GW ogres were too big, instead of the KoW ogres being too small....

In honesty - they will see a lot more use in RPGs than in the wargame, which is not a bad thing.... I really like them. I just play dwarfs and undead more in KoW, and I can always use ogres for role playing games. (Heck - I think that they are perfect for ogre PCs in Fantasy Craft.)

If anyone could take a photo or six, compared to things like a GW ogre, GW Orc, etc it would be great. I'm still waiting on mine to be sent out, and I assume it'll still be awhile...

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

Love both the ogres and the trolls, if nothing else they will serve well for dungeon-crawling games and the like, and for a very reasonable price.

Mantic figures have been making many appearance in my games - from post-Apocalyptic zombies to crossbow wielding ogres (who will double as Super Mutants...).

My Mantic Kickstarter figures and my Bones Kickstarter figures came within a few weeks of each other... I am very happy in cheap plastic mini land, right now.

Runnin up on ya.

My pic from the Mantic thread. They're comparable but the bases are thinner; on a GW base, they don't look out of place (except for the lack of huge gut).

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

Hm, that's not bad. I was expecting them to be a lot shorter. I guess I'll have to wait for them to arrive.. sometime in the next month, hopefully!

I actually like them better than the GW ogres, or at least the more recent GW ogres. (I will admit to a weakness for the Imperial ogres of the Marauder days - I like ogres in poofy shirts....)

Thanks for the pic Agnosto. They look a lot better than I had hoped too.

I kinda like the fact they look more orcy than fat ogre type.
