I was looking for some easy Autocannons for my CSM. Hacking up the Defilers' Reaper Autocannon would be a major PITA. Big Shootas from AOBR actually look the part! Here's what I came up with:



It's not a straight swap, because you need to hack up the support arm (I recommend bending the hand downward) and snip a few pieces off of the AOBR big shoota arms so that they fit properly, but all in all it's a hell of a lot easier (and cheaper) than buying or converting real Autocannons.

You could spend a few minutes De-Orkifying the thing...in that case the only indication that it's an Ork arm is the gargantuan hand. Most people probably won't notice that the little skull is an Ork glyph-style skull rather than a grimdark regular.

They look quite good.

But i'd go so far and also replace the ork hand and arm holding those entirely. The hands are slightly to large and the arms to long i think.

I think they look good, I might have to try this.

With the Ork arms, it adds to the mutated feel that a Chaos arm has.

It's an old trick but a good one. I've done a similar thing myself. The guy on the right is an AOBR snap fit mini I did over a year ago. It's an Ork big shoota from the battle wagon kit with a csm hand.
The one on the left was slightly more work and is still wip(started today). It's a chaos cultist heavy snubber, with the barrel from a big shoota and csm tank accessory to finish it off

The ork big shoota was going to be the method I was going to use, but then Anvil came out witha proper Autocannon. That definitely saved me some work. Good to see that the big shoota method not only works, but looks good too.
