hi all

im looking into have some terrain pieces made in hard foam
GW toyed with it a couple of years ago & i think micro arts studio make stuff out of it

but not alot of other people to touch it. why? is it really hard to work with or a high scrap rate or high cost to tool?

so if anyone out there could give me a few tips / pointers

cheers

I'm guessing GW don't do it as they already have substantial capital and experience tied up in plastics, so why go out of house at that point?

I could say why others don't get into it but the material its self is potentially a difficult medium as it strikes me as rather chemical reliant. I would guess that there is probably a high buy in for tooling and machinery as well.

If you do want some look at Tablescape.co.uk, they have some super hardfoam terrain and accessories that comes painted too.

Amusing anecdote, the owner challenged me to stand on some pieces when asked as to the robustness of the material (I'm 6' 4" and a hefty 20st!). Their container model comfortably took me standing on them.
