Awesome! I chose a sectorial to start with as well, and links aren't too hard to get the hang of.

As I don't play aleph, I'm not too familiar with its units, however, you DID max SWC, which is always a good sign. If anything, I think you may have trouble with smart opponents who stay just outside of sixteen inches. Outside of the missile launcher, you don't have anything that gets bonuses reliably from sixteen inches out, with the only other weapon that does can only reach 24 with bonuses. I'd recommend diversifying your weapons a little bit to be better suited for the medium-long range game, as chainrifles and nanopulsers are very good for when things get up close. It just seems a little redundant to have so many SMGs.
That said, you'll be able to move all that close range goodness efficiently with a link team. Be careful though, as your opponent can react to any model within the link team, even if they are not the leader. Just something to keep in mind as you move them across the board.

Thanks for the advice!
How about this. The marksman is now equipped with a Multi Sniper Rifle extending his threat range to 36" with a bonus. The reason for all the SMG is that it is the cheapest option. A combi rifle is 3 more points but it does not look all that much better. The Thorakitai are to maximise the spitfire bonuses. With the marksman savings I added another Netrod, bringing up my orders to 10.

Maxing SWC as Aleph/Steel Phalanx is not really hard. Everything is fairly expensive and any of the named personalities tend to have a hefty price tag for both points and SWC.
Something I would do that is optional but I highly recommend is swapping the Thorakites/Myrmidon around a bit.
Having Eudoros as a Lieutenant is a bit obvious(which can get your force wrecked in Infinity) but the Myrmidon Hacker can easily be used as a "Myrmidon Officer" which allows for the 'Chain of Command' trait.
It is also important to remember that with the Steel Phalanx, you can field a ton more Link Teams than any faction except for the Tohaa.
Another question is are you just proxying now or did you buy models so far?

No, have not bought anything yet. I thought it best to like the game before investing my money.
I looked into swapping Lt's, but that puts me over on SWC.

What you would want to do is not actually swap the Lieutenants but change the Hacker to an Officer with the Chain of Command rule.
Are you dead set on using so many Thorakitai and Alke?

I am not dead set on anything. I was just trying to maximize the starter kit. Automatically Appended Next Post: Tried changing the myrmidon hacker to an officer but it put me over by 2 points and .5 SWC.

Now that actually makes it a bit easier to work with, if you're trying to maximize the starter kit.
This list right here is a bit more Myrmidon heavy than you might like, but it uses the "Enomotarchos" special rule that makes the Steel Phalanx so interesting to play with and is a good 'test' build IMO for using proxies.
Each character with Enomotarchos can form a fireteam with up to 3 models of the same type (So Alke with Thorakatai, Eudoros/Phoenix/Ajax/Patroclus/Machaon/Myrmidon Officers can form up with Myrmidons) and I utilized this for the list:
ASSAULT SUBSECTION
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
GROUP 1 7 0 1
EUDOROS Lieutenant Mk12, Nanopulser, Zero-V Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 40)
MYRMIDON (Chain of Command) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Zero-V Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 39)
MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 16)
MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 16)
MYRMIDON Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 25)
MYRMIDON Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 25)
AGÊMA Marksman Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 38)
3 SWC | 199 Points
Basically what you are going to want to do here:
Eudoros gets a Chain Rifle and Combi Rifle Myrmidon.
The Myrmidon Officer gets a Chain Rifle and Combi Rifle Myrmidon.
The Agema goes off on his own and provides support to both groups as necessary.
The largest problem you will find working with ALEPH and the Steel Phalanx is that as I mentioned they are very points heavy, and Agema Marksmen are a huge offender in this.
Here is another list you might give a go:
ASSAULT SUBSECTION
──────────────────────────────────────────────────
GROUP 1 8 0 1
EUDOROS Lieutenant Mk12, Nanopulser, Zero-V Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 40)
MYRMIDON Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0.5 | 37)
MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 16)
MYRMIDON Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. ( 25)
THORAKITES Submachine gun, Chain Rifle, Flash Grenades / Pistol, Knife. ( 13)
THORAKITES Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Flash Grenades / Pistol, Knife. ( 16)
THORAKITES Submachine gun, Light Rocket Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 25)
ALKÊ Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 27)
3.5 SWC | 199 Points
Long story short though: Steel Phalanx benefits from having Myrmidons working in tandem with the Thorakites. Agema Marksmen are great in theory, but in practice they eat a load of points.

First I think I should point out you can only link 4 guy in a team with ALEPH, it looks like your trying to link 5 in your list.
With that out the way here is a list I played a few time at 200.
Eudoros Lt 40pts .5SWC
Myrmidon Spitfire 32pts 1SWC
Myrmidon Chain 16pts
Myrmidon Chain 16pts
Thorakites LRL 25pts 1SWC
Thorakites FO 16pts
Thorakites Combi 16pts (can proxy as another FO)
Agema ML 38pts 1.5SWC
199pts 4SWC
Basic play style, move forward in cover with linked Myrmidon killing every thing they come across. The Myrmidon Spitfire leads the fire team, when he dies and he will. Eudoros 2nd in Command kick in keep the link team going, for even more damage and B2 ARO. While the Combi and FO Thoraktes cover your back feild, and the Agema hunting camo units. The LRL Thorakites giving back up were needed.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor. |

I'd still say that if you like something, try it! Infinity is much less list-intensive than other games. I myself am a fan of many units that are considered overcosted or sub optimal or whatever the meta is, although my opponents don't think that they are all that ineffective when they're on the receiving end!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Oops, I missed the link restriction.
Since we are using proxies, I will try out all the suggestions. Will report on how I do.
Thanks again.
Edit: Will have to wait till next weekend to try Infinity. AgeofEgos has talked me into going to a WarmaHordes tournament this weekend.
