Well I'm sure I will sooner or later find a use for the dragonfly drone, but currently it doesn't really fit the ATHENA.

Well, I added some details and applied the final rivets. This photo also shows the central engine (providing the lift) to its advantage


and from below you can see the main exhaust as well as the forward engine

Now that the observation drone is complete I'm thinking about the second attack drone. Since it will have some kind of armament, I will most certainly have to alter the design - at least a bit.
While doing this I have finally the chance to work on the characters for the scene. Especially the long promised liaison officer from the Dragoon Guards.
So I gathered some existing characters that were already build for the ATHENA deck, as well as a bunch of bits to build the new liaison officer.

Before you fix it Klaus, may I make a suggestion to do with his hand?

have you considered using a hand that was flat against his back, with its palm outwards? as the "english gentleman" look is what you seem to be going for, and personally I think the flat hand is a more gentlemanly approach.

What is that wonderful grey putty you are using?

Procreate perhaps? Or maybe sculpey.

I pefer it to regular GS, as it is less sticky and easier to mix - but that's just my very personal taste

This guy looks great Klaus, and i especialy like the little detail of the Respirator, being that he is on an airship and im sure he'll have to use it a couple times

Thanks to Daemon-Forge at Ammobunker (who was the first to spot it), and all the others that spotted the error with the wrong hand

After that shocking discovery I went through my "Arms" bitbox


But unfortunately I couldn't find a proper hand (usually found on the Tank Commander sprue)!
So I conducted a quick amputation (I save you from the gruesome images ) and now, here he is!


Major General Sir Horace, former member of the Dragoon Guards Black Watch, now liaison officer aboard the ATHENA. Sir Horace is bearer of the Praetorian Order of Merit, the Commander of Praetorian Empire, and the very rare Dencarian Air Cross....and bearer of a right hand :tongue:


In addition there will be a kind of retinue around him, as well as crew readying the drone.
This is one of the officers built for the former ATHENA island


The drone operator (I will probably have to build a connector cable to his glasses, won't I?)

From the old build I still have this Tech Priest.

But I'm not so sure if he'll fit the scena, as he has his pistol and sword drawn.
What do you think?
As mentioned before, I'm still working on a dog for Sir Horace, plus one or two surprises. I will also build some NCOs and sailors that are readying the drones (like the second drone being pushed onto the deck), but here I'm awaiting some bits first.

Horace is looking amazing, as are the rest of the guys you made, although i agree in the fact that i dont think that tecpriest belongs with the rest of them, i think it would be better if you started from scratch on him and made him more of an "airman techpriest" whatever that looks like

I wasted some in RSJakes blog, but I think I'll try to dump the rest in Rouge Wolves blog :-P

BTW, I'm working on a female officer for the deck scene - inspired by RSJake:

She's still pretty rough, but I think I'm on the right track now.
