I keep forgetting that this one exists. I think it's probably better that way.

You're probably right.

Between this one and Imbrian, that's probably the best way to go.

And just maybe, hopefully one day be pleasantly surprised when...something shows up.

Eventually.

Yeah,
So I saw the game being played at salute.
The table was pretty packed so I didn't get any photos of the game in action.

The board and doors looked amazing.
The guys were using spare doors on their side to blocked off areas of the board not in use... which was pretty smart.

I was able to take some photos of minis they weren't using.

Will work OK for the INCURSION Boardgame, not so sure how well they'll work for the SoTR2 tabletop wargame...

I've already been chastised for mentioning the softened detail when we first saw the production plastics.

I am glad the game got some exposure at Salute, that may indicate intent to have some type of retail release (which if I recall was questionable as Jim didn't think he could afford to do so). It is a very cool game.

Thanks for the pictures Panic.

I have to say I am glad I bought those models when they were available in metal as they don't look great in plastic for whatever reason.

Those are decent looking boardgame pieces, but they're a far cry from detailed wargaming miniatures.

So, a lot of stuff has shipped or is on its way to the UK so it can be shipped!

June Update SOTR Kickstarter!

Greetings!

First, I want to briefly update you on shipping: I've already said this in the comments section but every pledge from outside the USA has shipped, either by boat to West Wind for EU or direct air mail for the rest of the world. That represents approximately 500 pledges that have shipped. John is now slogging through the remaining 450 or so here in the USA. Clearly it's taking longer than expected. John is saying 50 a week from here on out. Don't ask me what order they are shipping in because there is none! Pardon the lack of professionalism in this final stage. We really are totally out of money and all vacation is used up. Only so much that can be accomplished on any given weekend and the short time that is available after work during the week. As John says: doing the best I can, it ships when it ships!

Please contact us if what is delivered to you is incorrect. We'll fix it!

If you have questions about your pledge, email us or send us a message through Kickstarter. Questions or complaints about a specific pledge posted in any public forum will go unheeded/unanswered.

Now, on to the fun stuff. I encourage you all to check out the Kickstarter for 2nd ed. Secrets of the Third Reich. The Coopers at West Wind have been our partners for a long time now. My brother John Bailey and I developed the rules/background for the game and it's supplement: Doomsday. I also painted/converted most of the miniatures/scenery in first edition. Incursion is set in the SoTR universe and is essentially a spinoff. SoTR is a tabletop wargame as opposed to a boardgame and all of your Incursion miniatures are useable in that game too. I highly encourage you to pick up the rulebooks for the background and awesome Andy Cooper art and cool miniatures/battle scenes even if you are not interested in the freeform tabletop experience.

Pledge now!

yeah,
Boat tracking...
The ship has docked in Germany and it's destination has changed to UK
ETA 10/June/15...
With a bit of luck UK backers should get theirs before the SoTR KS ends.
Which would encourage more pledges. especially if Westwind do a bit of Photocopying and put a A4 advert in each box!!

Echo the above, Grindhouse have delivered a good looking game with excellent miniatures (for a boardgame) except for poor old Gretel.

Got my BUCKETS OF BLOOD pledge today!

Haven't had a chance to go through much yet, but an initial look through shows the detail to be surprisingly good.

However, some of the figures are really badly warped.

How badly?

This badly:

Brain Drone:

Metal Version:

Mech "Gracie"

Metal Version:

Any ideas on how to fix them?

Not sure the 'hot water treatment' will be applicable here, especially on the Brain Drone, with its 'clear glass' section?

I'm probably going to have to cut them free from their bases and re-base them too.

I would try heat/hot water. I don't think the clear plastic on the drone will be effected by it.

Heat, bend into desired shape, then immediately dunk into cold water?

That is what I do with similar issues (my copy of Incursion has not shown up yet so I have not tried it on these particular figs). I use a pot of boiling water and a bowl of cold water. Use forceps to dip the fig in the boiling water for a few seconds, pull it out and shape it, hold it in the desired shape and dunk in the ice water...

My technique is to.

1: boil water in a pot
2: turn off the heat
3: put pot on cutting board next to sink
4: turn water on full cold in sink
5: immerse only the bent part in hot water for a few seconds
6: hold in position and put under running water
7: repeat if necessary

Seems to work better than the drop whole miniature in water that some do and allows quick and easy rework if the angle is still off a little. Usually get about 2-3 minutes of work time before the water cools down enough.

In addition to fixing bent stuff, the hot/cold water trick works well for moving arms around to make different poses.

For the Brain Drone I'd cut the stem off and mount the whole thing on a GW-style flying stand.

I haven't opened my sealed boxes yet. I'm missing the deck of cards from the white box, and am hoping I can get them off the Surly Twins before the end of 2016.

They kind of are that now, aren't they?

I mean, I can also understand why, but still, not the best way forward, I think.

I still wish the SoTRII KS hadn't tanked so unexpectedly and spectacularly...

@Alpharius

I have a metal Gracie that I picked up on sale years back that's just gathering dust in my bits box. I'll send it your way if you want it.

Well, the way I see it is that they promised something, happily took money for it, and then gak happened because they hadn't done all of their homework/due diligence. gak happening isn't my fault but it did become my problem. I didn't bitch at them, so I don't especially appreciate their attitude. We're not the ones who fethed them over, after all.

So, knuckle down. Ship the boxes, fix the problems with people's orders then chill out for 6 months before deciding whether to go for a reprint for retail.

Those warped plastic minis can be fixed in 40 seconds with hot water. I have a buckets of blood pledge and everything was great, minis, cards, quality, etc. The game is great too.

As for retail, they said that won't happen. This game has become a 'grail' game as what's out there is out there. The backers are the lucky few to get this game in plastic with high quality parts. Most unhappy backers have sold their pledges for big cash. If you are unhappy maybe do the same?

The base game and snafu usually sell for $150-$200. A buckets of blood pledge just sold on ebay for over $300.

Mine finally showed up last week. It is sitting unopened next to my desk as I try to decide wether to sell it or keep it.

Alpharius, no problem!

Capt Jake, I would play it first if you are on the fence. You can always sell it opened and still get the same amount of cash. This may be good as you can make sutrw your set isnt missing anything vefore selling. The game is in essence a far better Space Hulk with more variety in a unique setting.

I was actually thinking of using usariadna infinity miniatures in the place of the us mechas.
