Subject: Payday 2 - PERKDECK REBALANCE & SIMON VIKLUND HAS LEFT THE BUILDING & YAKUZA PC ANNOUNCED
Eyup, they more or less pissed away a lot of good will and general cheer by starting off the first day with them going the route of CS:GO with handing out unique (not to mention hideous!) skins that give extra buffs and bonuses.
They said in the past they would never do micro-transactions, but I guess the DLC alone wasn't doing it for them.
Second day has given us five new masks, including the tiara! However, they've got a long way to go if they want to make up for that first day bombshell.

yes and no, think TF2/CSGO crates + keys, but without being to buy them anywhere but the steam market (I think). And instead of being just cosmetics, they actually make the gun better.

Automatically Appended Next Post: Okay, gave it a quick go on normal and it's a fun one, it's giving me serious Green Bridge vibe, one of my personal favourites from the first game.

First repeatedly claim that they will not be having microtransactions any time soon despite releasing massively overpriced DLC, then introducing microtransactions.
Uninstalled, will never buy another game of them and encourage others to do so.
The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

While this is breaking an earlier promise, they are not forcing you into doing this. Plus, the safes you get as a reward can be sold on the market place for money, so you're not stuck with them like some items.
I'm not sure where the "PAY TÜ WIN" notion is coming from though, as this is both a cooperative game where all work towards a common goal, plus the game already had hints of this by offering up better gear / upgrades through paid DLC, meaning there was always a sense of "Nyerrrrrrrrr, he's doing more damage than me or has a better thing because he has the *insert DLC pack here* and I don't!"
But, Crimefest is still young and I think it's hilarious how some people react to this. Not cool, sure. But end of the world? Please do grow up child.
Right now it looks like Vlad is going to be the next big thing now that Hector and the Elephant are both out of the way. I do wonder when we'll be seeing more Butcher heists.

That's what you get, greedy moneybags. Enjoying the ratings
More than 20000 negative reviews in ONE DAY, Steam rating has gone from 94% to 83% and Metacritic user rating down to 5.8.
It's gak that this that cause developers to not taking anything gamers say seriously.
Pay Day 2 has consistently had very reasonably priced DLC content, intermixed with regular free updates. It's been an extremely gracious game for players, and everyone's going to throw a raging temper tantrum over this? It's the text book case for "I'm gonna rage because I want to rage."
BrookM wrote: Temper tantrums separate the babies from the adults.
And I'm just saying, this is like deja vu for me harkoning back to the massively dispproportional rage fest over the ME3 ending. I wasn't happy about it either, but jesus people. Taking things so outrageously out of proportion is something children do, and then everyone wonders why game developers treat them like children...

Same here, while I'm not happy with this, it's not mandatory, plus Crimefest is still only warming up, who knows what else we'll be getting?
On the bright side, the community will become better for all the rage quits.

Are you kidding? "Very reasonably priced"? Are we talking of the same game? Payday 2 has been known for their insanely overpriced DLC with a few low-effort DLC items coming in at 5$ or more. There is not a single other game that has a worse price-effort ratio on the market, even putting Electronic Arts' The Sims to shame.
The Witcher 3 is a prime example for reasonably priced DLC. Actual content for a good price. Overkill on the other hand basically wanted to milk the game's success with a monthly payment of 5$ and now decided to turn 180° on a central point and blatantly lie to their customers. Not a smart idea on a market that's heavily community-driven and they now reap what they have sown. Dropped to 82%.
Okay, smaller update yesterday, but still interesting enough.
* AI can now trade hostages for players in custody, but only if all players are in custody. It's a minor thing, as most people I know play without AI or with a full crew of breathing kleptomaniac donkey-caves.
* Crime.net filter: you can now set up a preferred tactic when setting up a heist, choosing between Plan A (stealth), Plan B (loud) or Plan C (Either way, I don't give a feth). You can also search for servers using that set of criteria.

The Eve devs never removed the microtransactions. They're still there and people still buy them up like hotcakes (judging by how common they are on the market).
There were plans to add P2W microtransactions but the players got wind of it and rioted and now the only microtransactions available are cosmetic looks for your player or ship.

supposedly according to lone wolf (guy who predicted weapon skins + stats + microtransactions), they're doing armor skins today too (same vein as weapon skins, however I wouldn't be surprised if they swapped today with another day to scramble to come up with another idea)

Scramble to come up with another idea? Really? They've had this all done well in advance, so that all they'd have to do it upload it on the relevant day and not have us waiting while they were still working on it.

They should introduce a stamina system where you have 5 "getaway cars" and everytime you play a mission, you lose 1 getaway car. Every hour, you automatically get another getaway car or, if you're out, you can refresh the number of getaway cars by paying 2ish $.

Let's stick to the topic, and avoid directly comments at each other, m'kay? --Janthkin
So, today we got a new LMG (boring) and a new LMG mod, the bipod!
SACRIFICE MOBILITY TO GAIN MORE POWER! WHEN DEPLOYING THE BIPOD THE LMG HAS ALMOST NO RECOIL AND VERY HIGH ACCURACY, MAKING IT THE PERFECT TOOL FOR COVERING YOUR TEAM AND DEFENDING A POSITION.
THE BIPOD ONLY APPLIES STATS TO THE WEAPON IT'S ATTACHED TO WHEN IT'S DEPLOYED, MEANING YOU DON'T GAIN ANY BENEFIT FROM THE MODIFICATION WHEN IT ISN'T DEPLOYED.

Yes, scramble really, whether I was right or wrong, I don't think even ovk would have been dumb enough to even think of releasing armor skins at this point. And what I said was that IF armor had been the plan, and they removed it, they simply moved another day to today's place (i.e. releasing day 6 on day 5 instead).

What's the % to get a drill? I mean, technically, I could include them into the card draw at a 0.0001% chance and you would be "able" to get them. If it's a fair chance, imma jump back in.
