Subject: Re:URBANMATZ - producer of neoprene battle mats and prepainted terrain - NEWS
I wanted to pop in and provide a brief review of the products I ordered from Urbanmatz.
Quality: I couldn't be happier with the look and feel of my table setup. I ordered two half sets ( Ruins + Sci fi) which fills up a 6x4 board adequately. The build quality and rugged nature is solid - these are heavy duty casts which have a reassuring weight to them that feel like they will last through years of gaming and regular use. The ruins had a good finish with multiple layers of drybrushing, I couldn't fault the paint finish. The sci fi ruins too have a competent finish which can be deployed straight away to even the most demanding club or home game.
Range Selection: As seen from the photos posted above there is something here for any setting.
Value for money: To fill a full size table for around 160 euros is very reasonable indeed, certainly considering one large terrain feature from GW can be 40 - 50 euros. I have a good mix of small and large features and those who have visited to play have been really impressed by the professional look and feel of the new board. "It's better than in store..." has been mentioned more than once, and this is a standard I'm very happy with. I spent a good bit of time looking to build my own terrain, which is an ambition I still have, however with work and study, my free time is at a premium. Having added up a minimal cost for assembling materials to build my own, and factoring in the time I would need to assemble and finish something, I decided that my best option was to pay for this terrain to get me started and I feel this was the right decision for me/my group.
Shipping/Customer Service. I ordered my piece at the tail end of a full lockdown here in the UK and with this factored in I would say that production and delivery was prompt all things considered. The pieces arrived well packaged, individually bubble wrapped and enclosed in cut polystyrene. Unfortunately in transit one of my ruins had a small piece broken off, however upon contacting Martin and his team I was immediately provided with a confirmation of a replacement. This communication came quickly and in a very friendly manner. I wouldn't hesitate to order again given this, and overall am extremely happy with what I received.
