That sounds similar to the initial allocation last year but a lot more stock was made available in the end.

Let's hope so. Or else there's not much to go around with those kinds of numbers.

Disappointing but expected with the current state of everything.

I may be too sleepy to do accurate maths right now but... That marine box is Aud$555 of models (MSRP). If it really is $350 for the box as HBMC indicates, that's a huge saving.

Edit
I just read his post again. I agree it's a lot of money to outlay all at once, but that's always going to be the case for large boxes of this nature. Curious to know his channels for getting that down to ~$275.

The boxes are live in NZ.

Are they usually all priced differently? Some are cheaper than others.

Yes that is quite normal. Normally they are within a rough range of each other, but there is often some variation. A few boxes will cost more and some less. It depends a lot on what GW chose to put in the box and what the price is on them as the discount percentage is normally the same (or, again, about the same).

You may not get a discount but the official GW store appears to have them all in stock still for NZ and AUS.

Yeah but why buy full GW retail price?

I'm glad none of them really appeal to me, both because I missed them so would have been sad and also because if I didn't miss them I would have just wasted money adding to the unpainted hordes

I think I managed to get a AM and SM box. Place I order from was doing max 1 of each per person, which is good given the current circumstances.

Tried to get the space marine one from Alchemist, but the site was so slow that I presumed that it wasn’t going to work. I managed to get another one from a smaller indie retailer while I was waiting for alchemist to process the order, so it looks like I’ve ended up with two boxes.

First world problems I guess.

Managed to order the Slaanesh one pretty easily from Element tbh. Didn't have to be there dead on 10am or anything. £106 all in so pretty happy with that.

I had tabs for a few places open and they were mostly very slow at 10AM, so I was a bit worried (I had reigned in my expectations though to avoid disappointment since someone said in this thread that places were getting as few as 4 copies each). Alchemist seems to have 2 dozen or so of each still listed so I suppose they aren't as limited as might have been thought.

Think I got Necrons and Ad Mech from Element, had sort of forgotten and wasn't sure if I was going to get them, then realised it was gone ten and thought I'd check to see if they still had either, as they did, it seemed rude not to...

Firestorm Games seems to have most in stock and GW UK has everything still listed. So they seem to be selling at a good rate but not "Indomitus" speed. That said I'll be surprised if many make it to Christmas whilst still being on sale.

Alchemist have now run through the AM SM and SoB stock. Still 40 Orks left though doubt they'll still be there next week tough. Noticed a few places didn't have the DG box in UK, I had thought that the supply issues for that were RoW only but I guess not.

Firestorm is always my go to, Element are the "big dogs" of the independents due to all the youtuber crossovers so stock usually goes quickest with them.

I tend to gravitate toward Firestorm first then Wayland, though I've noticed that Wayland has lost some of their high discount on GW stock. They used to be pretty much the best, but during the pandemic their % off has reduced and now Firestorm tends to be my best. And yep Firestorm tends to have stuff, I've never had problems ordering from them.

Wayland lost me as a customer a long time ago due to their past tendency to imply that everything on their website was in stock, rather than available to order from suppliers. That, and because they messed me around with a refund once which was totally unnecessary.

My go-to is Darksphere (or sometimes Alchemist) as they give the best discounts, although you have to take postage into account with Darksphere.

Not sure why UK buyers buy GW stuff for 10%-15% discount when there are way better options out there.

Does anyone know when the delayed boxes will be available? ie the deathguard one.

Waylands site changed to live inventory years ago - but I do recall those days of a green light meaning "in stock" and "we can order it" at the same time; which then messes you around because they tend to get one delivery a week and sometimes their suppliers don't send them everything so you could end up waiting 2-3 weeks. Though I never had issues with refunds or getting stock.

As for why people pay more, even with the internet not everyone shops around. Quite a lot of people will buy from a single store that they find reliable and just keep ordering from there. Others might support stores local to them even if those prices are higher because its keeping the local gaming scene going.

A lot of stores are going for flexible discounts based on stock levels it seems.

I ordered from Goblin Gaming at full discount earlier but the boxes are now offered at between 20% and 0% off based upon how much stock is remaining. I know Wayland has done it before and Firestorm games seem to be doing the same today.

I used to order everything from waylands, but their insistence to ship product with royal mail even when you specifically ask them not to turned me away. Royal mail is about as reliable as just tossing the shipment into the ocean and hope it gets washed up on the right shore. In my case 10 out of 19 shipments handled by them were lost.

Weird, I have a 100% record with Royal Mail when buying from Dark Sphere or Element games. They always ship new releases on Friday and the package arrives Saturday. I avoid any order that needs another carrier as they rarely deliver on Saturday.

I can tell you that it's not Royal Mail, but their "sister company" GLS who they use for many European countries. They are, as you suggest, absolutely terrible, and will often not even attempt delivery.

I had to learn this the hard way. However, Royal Mail's service in the UK is, generallly speaking, terrific.

Jidmah is shown as being in Germany, might be that RM international isn't as reliable as RM in the UK - where I agree its generally a very reliable service.

Now if we want to talk about DHL or DPD or gah I've actually forgotten the name of them, but there was one of those private delivery firms that was pretty unreliable for me in the past and generally remained so. Not seen them used in ages though so I suspect that had its impact on places using them. RM, UPS and Amazon tend to be what I get most things from and they all tend to be reliable.

I'd settle for stock being available in stores next weekend, to be honest. Wouldn't be terrible to see the odd box in stock and be tempted.

Probably the difference between domestic and international service. The only good thing Brexit has done for me is that I don't have to deal with Royal Mail anymore. I don't think I can quite match Jidmah's loss record, but between stuff never arriving, delays, knock-on effects and battered parcels, I have to say good riddance.
