Hey all.

So, i'm trying to decide on a marine-based allies for my Grey knights. I know technically guard would be better and such, but I'm quite set on the idea of having marines, as I preferr the elite feel, and my army is very kind of "Hero-hammer", which I quite like about it

My choices are between.

Dark angels.
HQ: Sammel on Land speeder
Troops: 5x tactical marines with a plasma cannon (They can take one heavy or special at 5 men, which is unique and nice, means my troops tax can at least hurl plasma blasts )

This comes in at less than 300 points, and gives me an armour 14 land speeder, which in my mind, is epic. Also leaves me more points for the grey knight's themselves.

Blood angels.
HQ: Mephiston
Troops: 5 tactical marines.
Elite: Furioso dread with talons in a drop pod.

This gives me a teleport homer in the form of the drop pod, gives me the general nastyness and fun of a furioso in the backfield first turn, and also gives me mephiston, who while quite points costly, is pretty much a miniature monstrous creature.
However, it's much more costly points wise than the angels, coming in at over 500 points.

So, out of these two, which would you suggest? Coateaz, isn't an option, nor is draigo, nor is paladins, and generally, I'm not a fan of playing guard or other such allies, so it's gonna be one of these two

well, the teleport homer isn't supposed to work for allies as far as I know (FAQ'ed I think) so that may limit your drop pod option. Really these choices are up to you to fun as both are decent but nothing game changing in any way anymore. I'd say blood angels just cause I like blendernaught with magna grapple just for LOL's and the AV 14 land speeder is still just 2 hull points and vulnerable to the rear.

Indeedy. ALso had 2 more options occour to me.

Space marines:
HQ: Chapter master (For orbital bombardment)
Troops: 2x5 tactical marines
Heavy: 3 Thunderfire cannons.

This is fairly cheap, gives me 2 backfield scoring units, that can benefit from improved cover, thanks to 3 techmarines. It also gives me 12 longrange blasts a turn that can do lot's of great things like ignore cover, make terrain difficult, e.x, gives me a lot of control, and a strength 10 ap1 large blast for the really scary things.

Space wolves.

HQ: Runepriest With prescience and JOTWW
Troops 9 grey hunters in drop pod (With priest)
10 grey hunters in drop pod.
3 lone wolves with chainfist, terminator armour, and storm shield.

This one gives me good anti tank waddling up the field from the lonewolves, 2 great scoring unit's, and a priest stopping psychic powers and throwing it's own about.

Thoughts?
