“Because we couldn’t be trusted. The Emperor needed a weapon that would never obey its own desires before those of the Imperium. He needed a weapon that would never bite the hand that feeds. The World Eaters were not that weapon. We’ve all drawn blades purely for the sake of shedding blood, and we’ve all felt the exultation of winning a war that never even needed to happen. We are not the tame, reliable pets that the Emperor wanted. The Wolves obey, when we would not. The Wolves can be trusted, when we never could. They have a discipline we lack, because their passions are not aflame with the Butcher’s Nails buzzing in the back of their skulls.
The Wolves will always come to heel when called. In that regard, it is a mystery why they name themselves wolves. They are tame, collared by the Emperor, obeying his every whim. But a wolf doesn’t behave that way. Only a dog does.
That is why we are the Eaters of Worlds, and the War Hounds no longer."

I use the following steps:
1: Base coil in blue (or green) of your choice.
2: Wash in Nuln Oil to get into the crevices.
3: Highlight raised parts of the coils with the same colour as base.
4: Mix base 50:50 with white and thin quite a lot.
5: Highlight just the corners of the coils. Run the brush about 25% of the way past the corner of each coil.
6: Paint a line of white over the corner sections for the 'shine'.
Sorry, don't have a real good pic of any of mine at the moment:

My method is to pick the darkest hue of a color. Then, once that's dry, go in with a brighter layer, but leave the crevices dark. Dry brush the surrounding area lightly with this color. Go up the next color in brightness, and dry brush on, again, include th surrounding area, paying attention to light direction (so.... OSL). One more level of brightness, and lastly, white tainted with your selected color, and hit just a few of the sharpest edges with a very light dry brush.
