I've finally gotten as good as pictures as I'm gonna get for the time being of my army, so I've decided to start the army blog. Let's start with a bit of background. It's not fully fleshed out yet but as I refine it and give more details I'll add them.

Background of the planet Parnassus:

Parnassus was colonized simultaneously by both the empires of Earth and Mars. In the beginning there were many border clashes and attempts of seizing the planet from one another. Eventually an agreement was formed and Parnassus ceased to be a battleground. The agreement gave the world above the ground, with the exception of a few hive/forges, to the imperial half of the world. And the mechanicus gained everything below the surface. This agreement is still in place to this day. Parnassus' mechanicus half has been manufacturing and developing plasma weaponry from the beginning but rarely exports it, the ad mech hierarchy are very possessive and secretive about their plasma technology as they know few few forgeworlds still produce it in such quality and quantity. A favored weapon of the Parnassian regiments, armored included, is the plasma gun and larger variants. Parnassus has long been producing baneblade chassis suerpheavy tanks and russes. The imperial half of the world is governed by a duke, and the culture and styling is a victorian feel with definite influences from their mars brethren. The Duke also commands an elite division of the guard called the Ducal Guard who wear white armor and red coats. The standard colors of the Parnassian infantry regiments are tan uniforms with red armor. Armored colors are primarily tan with red accents and markings. As are the colors for the navy craft allocated to the Parnassian regiments. In recent years, Parnassus has gained the blessings of Mars to produce their own titans and found their own Titan Legio.

The regiments detailed in this blog are:

Parnassian 78th Infantry Regiment
The Ducal Guard
5th Armored Division
3rd Super Heavy Company
Legio Incus

Since I want to keep all my works here in this thread, I'm going to copy my titan thread posts from the other forums to this thread here:

So my wife recently came into a little money and decided to surprise me by asking me if I wanted a titan. She said I could have a warhound as a combined birthday and Christmas gift. So I let her pick which one, though no matter what I was going to pick a Lucius and thankfully she agreed and she picked the Jackal (which I'm happy with though I think I still like the wolf a tiny tad more).

So it finally arrived.

Opened up:

Instructions and Certificate Envelope:

I kinda wish the instructions were more detailed or even just a master parts diagram but meh not a huge deal...

Certificate:

I like this, even though it has no real purpose, it's just kinda neat. So I have #1455 and it was built in the year 714M41. So it's a late year production. Which fits me just fine

I then spent two hours washing all the parts and laying them all out. And I must say this is gonna be a doozy of a project. Here's some pics of the pieces.

And while slightly daunting, I am really looking forward to this. My wife is working on a suitable name for this beast. She's a honors classics major graduate and is very familiar with latin so I'm sure she'll come up with something good. She named the Legion it is part of Legio Incus.

* * * * * * * * * * * *

Well the hardest part is done. It has a name: Cataegis Adventus. Now just simple act of assembly! That'll take no time, right? Right... ?

* * * * * * * * * * * *

So I've been inspired to resume construction on this beast. I've gotten a little headway done before I leave for nightshift today. Primarily I've removed almost all the resin blocks off the ends of the pieces and collected them in a bowl. I've also cleaned and filed all the foot pieces, toes, toe joints, toe pistons, ankle pistons, lower leg segments, and shin armor pieces.

Next step, primering and painting those pieces , then planning the pose...

* * * * * * * * * * * *

And as of tomorrow I begin work on a pipeline project and my free time will be approaching 0. I'll be working six 12 hour days a week... so unfortunately I will be even slower at getting the titan up and running...

* * * * * * * * * * * *

^ Those were the main previous posts without the conversations that went on in it's original thread^

The latest update is I've got a base of leadbelcher on everything up to the hips and have been thinking on poses. Next step of painting will probably happen this weekend.

I do need more scrub guard eventually. In higher point games with the arty, I tend to run out since each carriage needs 4 a pop... limits the number of infantry I can take "/ I've got a few left unbuilt but I was saving those for special weapons since I'm short on non-stormy plasma gunners. Or for special characters or whatever I want to make that I think looks cool.

How did you build the artillery carriages? They look very intimidating!

The community is a great place to come for tactics advice, and there is a lot of very sound opinions and idea out there, but at the end of the day, play the game how you want to... Don't worry about the hordes of Dakka descending on your gaming club to arrest you for taking one heldrake or not using a screamerstar. Knowing the standard opinion (and that's all it is) on what is good/bad and conforming to that opinion religiously are two entirely separate things.

The Arty carriages are these:

I got a sweet deal on them from a seller on ebay quite a while ago. 6 for 30$

I haven't directly compared them to the forgeworld earthshaker carriages but based on pics, these are only slightly longer with a slightly smaller bore. Since I'm not using the wheels on any of them, I'm using the towing carriages for other projects, the 2 wheel dollys will be used for nebelwerfer thudd gun stand-ins.

Once again in the interest of keeping all my stuff in a single log, here's a link to my thunderbolt scratch log. http://z4.invisionfree.com/Boot_Camp/index.php?showtopic=15156

When it gets finished, I'll update it in both that thread and this one.

Any updates? I like your paint scheme on the Valkyries. How do you like the thunderbolt? My opinion, Vendettas are better in killing aircraft but I never used a Thunderbolt.

Rules-wise, there is no reason to ever take the thunderbolt imo. You have 2 TL ac and 1 TL las for 50more pts than the vendetta. But I don't mind too much especially because the vendetta gets so much hate. Plus by the rule-of-cool, the thunderbolt looks amazing. I do use it in my larger games and while ACs aren't as ppwer as las shots, it does make for a good dogfighter since you get 2 more shots and the highest av on a flier is 12 means you can still glance and pene with an ac.

As far as updates: big update and pics to come of my recently built gaming table in the garage. And I just aquired an airbrush and have been working on getting the tan basecoat on all my russes. I am also working on the panzerblade in an attempt to finish for a game this weekend. So probably a really big update Monday.

I bought a Long Tom for a terrain contest piece I never finished. I'll probably turn it into a different piece of terrain at some point.

You have a LOT of work ahead of you. Interested in seeing where this goes. Subbed.

So I was going to post a few pictures oh my wip paintjobs on my tanks until I got to my friend's place this weekend to play a game. Thats when my valks clashed horribly with my tanks (not physically thankfully, but aesthetically)! I made a rookie mistake. I Switched paints assuming they were close based on what I've read but didn't check it in a good lighting situation. So my GW kommando khaki painted valks looked WAY different from my vallejo khaki russes and panzerblade. I am moving back to the GW color for khaki because while the vallejo paint was nice to use, the shade has almost a fleshy color to it compared to the GW. So far it's the only conflict I've had with my product line change but I haven't tried the second most important color for me and that's the red. it looks alot closer to the red gore I used from GW though.

I won't be making that mistake again...
