I've gotten a hold of a few plastic cold ones, and hope to convert them to be drakon riders for Kings of War (the elf Drakon Rider is one of the worst models I've ever seen, and I just can't see myself fielding it and being able to hold my head up and be proud of my army)

But I don't have much experience with winged critters... Nor Cold One Riders.

Can you, fair dakkites, recommend sets of wings, preferably plastic, that are the right size (not too big) and right look (sort of leathery reptillian dragon wing style) for this type of conversion? My bits box is utterly devoid of wings, and I don't even really know where to start looking!

And where do you think you'd put the wings? Behind the rider's legs, or in front of them? I'm having trouble seeing how these babies would work out.

PS Drakon Riders sit on a 40mm square base, rather than the typical skinny cavalry base, so there's a bit more leeway to play around with wings out the sides.

Thanks in advance!

I play...

Sigh.

Who am I kidding? I only paint these days...

wyvern. You might have to go online and look for bits, but by my expectation, I'd expect the wings to be decently large since they are carrying a fat lazy iron-shod kniggit on their backs. if you are just adding stuff to the model..... ehhhhhh...

To glimpse the future, you must look to the past and understand it. Names may change, but human behavior repeats itself. Prophetic insight is nothing more than profound hindsight.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.
