This is my very first time on Dakka Dakka, so first of all...hi to all of you! . I'm more a painter than a player, but I've been playing 40k since 2 or 3 years ago. I'd have two "technical" questions for you guys: 1) A land speeder is on a wood (it floats above the terrain). There is another wood nearby and a Leman Russ behind it (so wood with the speeder - wood - Leman). Can the Leman shoot at the Land Speeder? Some say: yes, b/c the speeder is visible everywhere on the battlefield (it's floating on a L3 terrain). Others say: not necessarily, b/c you have to check the real line of sight. What do you think? 2) A troop is in an area terrain, with a cover of 4+. An ordnance barrage templates hits the squad into cover (the centre of the template is in the same area terrain). Does the squad get the cover? I thank you so much for your replies F.

No. Level 3 area terrain blocks everything. Note that "terrain" and "area terrain" are two different things.

Also note that the size category is the only size that matters and you have to be of a size level higher (in this case 4) to see over it. Note that the main rulebook does not classify anything as size level 4 or larger.

So no you cannot shoot over size level 3 without house rules.
