Subject: Space Marines vs Dark Eldar - 1500pts - Fully Painted
Really enjoyed this mission for a change of pace. That being said, shouldn'y ou have auto-lost in turn one when your Raptors were killed? Or was it a special rule for the mission that you don't autolose if you have nothing on the board at the end of your turn?

Mission seemed weird, as it means that the player going first has an extremely high change to winning as for the first turn player it is a lot easier to kill the opponents lost patrol and because of an extra turn of movement also a lot easier to protect their own lost patrol.
I do think way too many victory points are part of the lost patrol, seems like an auto-win if you would have a unit in a waveserpent as a lost patrol.

The mission indeed has a rule that prevents a wi by tabling called "acceptable losses".
The mission was developed before waveserpents had their supershields even then, drop pod in this mission is extremely good at taking out the enemy that is stranded. I had a very good chance of doing better. I also gambled. I could have placed the warriors as the patrol knowing they could take a lot more flack over the course of the game and their low leadership could have helped by maiking them move faster home had they failed a morale check.
Thanks Skar. I suspected as much, otherwise it would be a pretty damn short game 9/10.
I think you're spot on about the Warriors. I see why you wanted to make your lost patrol a fast unit that could run away from trouble, but it was too fragile considering your opponent had drop-pods.
Better to find that out in a tournament practice game than in the actual tournament though.
