Hi guys,

Quick question.
I am after a squad of CAM Havocs but want 4 with missile launchers, any ideas how to do this cheaply as only one comes with a launcher in the box...
Also does anybody know if the CSM Rhino spruce contains a havoc launcher?

Well. The havoc box is pretty gak imo. And GW no longer sells the single blisters of havocs. I made mine using the old blisters. And a Devastater kit. The loyalist counterpart is -full- of weapons. I got atleast two cannons from it. The other two were from the old blisters and the lascannon. As I run x3 ML and x1 Lascannon.

What a waste of time... I would by t bother with havocs for now then... Defiler I suppose... Even though they are a bit pants

Well don't let me deter you completely. They are a great unit. I just think the kit sucks. And its not too hard to justify your Chaos Marines using stolen newer equipment.

For autocannons I simply took the heavy bolters you get and put the dragon heads you get from the tank sprues. I'd also look into Oblits but I always liked Defilers. Especially back when they were 150 points.

I love chaos models. But loyalist infantry kits more oft then not have more bang for their buck. Plus my men look like they have taken spare parts from the loyalists they have killed.

I already have 2 squads of obliterators lol just wanted the amazingly cheap heavy squad that is havocs... My defiler can replace them slightly I suppose... Not going to buy havocs without a contingency play for launchers :-)

Loyalists are definitely worth a look into then sounds like you get slot compared to normal...

Any idea about the havoc launcher for rhinos?

If you get a Chaos rack. You know the ones with the spikes and what not? You get a Havoc Launcher it looks like one of those classic old missile pods. The Loyalists get Hunter Killers. While not as bulky. They do look quite tactical and lean like modern military. And anyone decent would let you just say it's a Havoc Launcher.

You are putting Dirge Casters on your tanks too yes? I think overwatch is a dumb rule.


Back in 5th ed. I used my Defiler basically as a Leman Russ it stayed away and shelled the enemy it was -very- effective until it came into enemy fire. But now with it will not die. I could see it being a nice workhorse. It sure would last a lot longer. I have a Forgefiend now.

good job I got paid today, bought a whole New 2000Pt chaos army just missing havocs, obliterators are on order, weekend is now building and basecoating...

IG, Box of IG heavy weapon teams. You get 3 launchers, 3 AC, 3 LC, 3 HB and 3 Mortars.

With some modification, the mortars can be converted to look like convincing launchers. The launchers will need to be cut down a bit to not look so ridiculously long. Using the regular SM bolter hands, just shave off along one edge of the shoulder-mounting point, so that instead of the arm laying across the chest, it points out away from the chest, and then just re-pose the hand, and glue your pauldrons on, and then add the shoulder-mount weapon.

Most of the weapons will need to be modified, but that's a pretty easy job, the only one that poses a challenge is the las-cannon.

You even come away from the kit with some kneeling cultists/traitor guard.

if you have spare HK missiles around, they also work with the method mentioned above, OR I've seen this mod: Take the SM tank hatch storm-bolter shooting arms, glue the HK Missile computer box on top of the grip blocking the marines face, and then add the missile launcher component on the left side, just the way you'd see it on a javelin missile launcher
