So I mentioned on the kickstarter's comments that I was a little disappointed with the quality of my models, and that'd I'd upload some pictures to illustrate my points. I'd like to first state though I do think they are really great models, and I'm still happy with my pledge. However there are a few flaws that I'd like to bring forward in hopes of them being eliminated on future models. So first off is there is a surprising amount of clean up on the models. Maybe I've just been spoiled, but I found a lot of flash on these models. Mold lines were only visible one or two of my models and they cleaned up fairly easy. Cleric was a bit of pain since they chunk of resin on the right was what I had to saw off of her foot stand.
One of the things I mentioned was that the cleric's face is a little messed up, but this fairly typical for resin. This is an easy fix, but just bringing it forward.
Another thing I noticed was that several of the gel's nodes did not seem to be attached to the models well. They didn't look like they were suppose to be part of the model, but just something stuck on after. The Gel king was the worst offender for this.
There are also two spots where I found very clear sculpting marks. On the Gel Wizard's hat it looks like the upper part was suppose to be trimmed off. There is a similar harsh line on the Gel King's mouth.
Its hard to see in the pictures, but you can see tool marks over the larger flat areas. I'm hoping these will disappear after base coating since they're the thing that bothers me the most. The gels are the worst for it, but I understand that sculpting a nearly smooth model is likely very hard. It just annoys me a little that I can see how the model was sculpted since the connections are not blended well.
After I finish getting them cleaned I'll see how much goes away after a good priming.

I'm sorry you were having issues with some of the miniatures. Resin casting has been a learning process for us, and we're slowly getting the kinks out of our results. I'll see about fixing the green, and getting another master done for the major offenders.
If you feel anything needs a replacement, just send us a PM or email and we won't hesitate to send you a replacement.
Otherwise, I hope you enjoy your models and have fun playing Endless!

On the bright side, I'm prety sure a little bit of liquid green stuff would fill in thows gaps and smooth out the tool marks on the gels to give a more semeless look.
Thow I think it bares saying that if this was on any other model but the gels, thows kind of mistakes would be pretty unforgivable and would not be nearly as easy to fix.

Ugh, but that would require buying a GW product

Agreed. Misk and Cy are (from what I can tell) decently new to resin casting, and they're churning out far better quality (i.e. no major issues/flaws) than FineCast . And the large bag of miscasts that they sent me seems to be saying that they're doing well enough and are noticing that one mold might be giving them the same trouble in the same spot (as pointed out by the 14 'miscast' gunsmiths that have a tiny bubble in their elbow ).
Boshea, the flash you experience on the model is something that I've come to learn to deal with since OTL started to move to Resin. When Wehrkind was doing the resin casting I was getting models that had flash on it, but it would just flake off no harm, no foul. Since Misk and Cy took over the resin casting, the same "issue". Just take the dull end of your hobby knife and it should scrape away without troubles. I know you're probably say, "but Alf, ugh it's flash it shouldn't be there." I agree, but I also chalk it up to the fact it was 1 person (and now 2 people) casting this stuff in their bathroom. From what I can tell, it's just the technical limitations of the mold making process and how they're cast.
But hey, no bubbles!

Hmm, I actually kind of suprised by this... I was fortunate enough to see some of these models in person back in February at Templcon and they looked fantastic. They didn't show any of these problems.
I'm jealous that you got your stuff already... I'm still waiting.

I've just been spoiled by most of my resin purchases lately I guess. It wasn't really a big issue, just something I mentioned since some other people were noticing it as well.

I've had the chest for over a month now, just finally got around to cleaning them up and such. I have a feeling that a coat of paint will cover a lot of the stuff I'm noticing. Some of it could be damages to the mold from casting which is a possiblity. My Forsaker pinup had no chin and when I emailed KoD about it, turns out the master was damaged and needed to be fixed. About the only thing I'd really put up to possibly mold damage would be the hard lines on the wizard hats since they look the most abnormal to be.

I understand If the paint doesn't fix the issues, PM Miskatonicalum or Cyporiean. You could PM me, but I can't help you out in that department

Who says you need to buy the marked up GW repackage?
From what I understand " Vallejo Plastic Putty" is bassicly the same thing as Liquid Greenstuff from what I heard.

Non-green models at TempleCon would've been cast by Wehrkind... so that could explain the difference.
The face of the cleric looks to be from the sculpting and not the cast from what I can see... but it may be hard to tell from the pics.
Thanks for posting your thoughts Boshea!

We didn't display greens at Templecon, we just had the quickly primed gels on display that we picked up along the way. Wehr had all of the EFT greens in his lab at that point, and we don't bring greens to shows due to the risks involved.
And we've been using Wehr's molds for anything that he did before June, most of these have been burned out by now and replaced using new molds direct from the greens when possible (several were heavily damaged).

Having recently worked on a few of the Endless models, I feel i can chime in on this, especially with the Cleric's face sculpt. Some of the models have more of an "anime" (for lack of a better term) aesthetic, ie the bigger eyes. For me, this was most prevalent on the Adept. (pic spoilered so as to not hijack thread) At first, I thought it was a casting issue. However after a bit of experimentation, I found I could add a colored iris before adding the pupil, fully taking advantage of the larger eyes. Others, like the Bandit, have a more scaled facial structure. I did notice there were a few defects (minor bubbles/gaps) in the group I worked with, but a little tlc and greenstuff and they were looking right as rain!

In your pic of the adept is that a bird in her hair or just an odd hair coloration?

Odd hair coloration, more than likely. Unless you mean the purple ball of magic-ness

hahaha I just saw it. The eyes' sculpt look a bit rough. I think what you see as a beak is just the upper eyelid. The "eye" part seems to be a bit of primer left over, or a camera glitch.

*ahem* anywho... I'll not further derail the thread at hand.
It does look like the eye is a bit of reflected glare from an errant bit of ink wash. The fact its a macro photo probably doesnt help much either!
Fascinating how things like this can emerge
