Im hopefully going to my first Irish tournament end of Sept and need a bit of help/tweaking with my list.
First off: its an all comers list. I fully expect to be crushed VS the more tailored, "hardcore" lists but they are two armies I like and enjoy playing.
Im up to about 1550 points with it and tourney rules are 1650 max with usual restrictions.

The obvious weaknesses are no hand to hand capability whatsoever, limited long range AT or VS heavy armor, 24" range optimally and potentially few scoring troops if Platoons blob.

Here is my list.

Griffon

A few thoughts:

Astropath and Officer are fairly obvious if a little price heavy.
Ratlings are there literally to man the quad gun.
3x Speeders with +1 reserves should hopefully be able to get a turn 2 strike on enemy vehicles via DS or can deploy normally.
Platoons can blob VS certain armies or split VS others.
RP is mainly there for anti-psyker, jaws and 5+ cover if needed.
LFs I've split into Lcs and MLs to try and mitigate coming up against LRs or Monoliths.
Always had luck /results with the Griffon, hence its inclusion.
ADL + quad as standard.
Vindicator for cheapish str10 and blast.

Any ideas are more than welcome, Im a long time 40k player but entering my first tournament is daunting to say the least.

Normally tournaments are kp based in at least the secondary , my suggestion would be to squadron 2 speeders drop the third and flesh out your grey hunters more with the points that way you have at least some melee ability. A lone wolf in termie armor with ss wouldn't be bad either. If your only at 1550 dropping the ratings wouldn't be bad either 3 models is a free kill point IMO, also some carapace armor for the blob so you could ignore wws

Yeah its a somewhat strange ruleset Jpat. No real secondary KPs (ish).

Only problem with squadroning the speeders is squadron targeting rules - I'd be down to targeting one tank per turn and that might well be overkill with 4xMMs. With 3x1 I get 3 targets?
I agree I need a little bit of melle but have 100 points to play with. How would you use the LW in the list?

I hope the Ratlings never get hit being honest(I have a very oldschol model army - 2nd edition Ratlings so behind the ADL with quad gun they literally cant be seen). Hence their BS4 on the quad.

Carapace for the whole Blob is excessively expensive Im afraid :(

The lw I would put him in the worst possible place for him to be(ie infront of Death Star ECT) either that give him MBs and run him into the enemy tank lines. Basically they would ave to target him or he would do ALOT of damnage to the enemy. I see your point if your running 5 man GH squads drop the rhinos for las plas razorbacks

But a single LW with t4, 1W in termie, even a decent Kroot unit would down him if hes leading the charge no?

Lasplas is a nice idea but dosent synch with my melta GHs (12" range and then 24"). Should I switch to plasma for synergy/range?

Any ideas/upgrade for the Platoons with the 100 points left?
Maybe a few flamers, hand to hand weapons?

Thanks for ideas though. I'm trying to trash the list out as much as possible
