Im just going to lay this out nice and simple.

Chaos will be receiving some serious treatment very soon in the form of 4 new supplements, I do not have a release date (I couldn't even get an approximate) but what I could get was the following information about what the supplements will do...

- There will be 4 supplements released within short succession, possibly even all at once
- They will be called "The Book of Khorne", "The Book of Nurgle", "The Book of Tzeentch" and "The Book of Slanesh"
- They will work for both chaos space marines AND chaos Daemons in a very unique way
- each will have its own unique warlord traits and some new wargear options

I asked how they work for both codex and the example I was given was something along these lines..
Each book is designed to represent a combined force of daemon and marine all working in the will of their chosen patron, this will be done by allowing players to take units from BOTH Codex: Chaos Space Marines AND Codex: Chaos Daemons without the need to ally so long as they all follow the same god. For example in the book of khorne you can take any unit from either codex as long as it doesnt have Daemon of nurgle, slaanesh or tzeentch or mark of nurgle, slaanesh or Tzeentch.

The source has requested that he stay anonymous but so far I have found him to be quite accusative

UPDATE

After reading the glllowing rumour
http://natfka.blogspot.com.au/2013/09/book-of-tzeentch-supplement-new-gw.html?m=1 on Faeit212 I contacted my source to hopefully get some confirmation. Unfortunately he has informed me that the rumour is not 100% accurate. Here are the responses he gave me:

-there will be no cult terminators as these are easily reprisented by marked terminators. ..
-GW have moved away from the idea of a group launch and will be relasing the digital edition of the book of tzeench in the second half of 2014
( The rubric terminator rumour is likely a result of this next point)
-any CSM unit with both MoT and a bolt weapon may take inferno bolts for an extra cost

I also wanted to add, I have heard people claiming this rumour was made up to mess with people... while I cant reveal my source or give any proof I can say that it is a genuine rumour. We will just have to wait it out and see

SECOND UPDATE!
spoke to my friend this morning. He has informed me that the Book of Tzeentch is currently scheduled for digital release April but will likely be set back into may. He has been part of the playtest group for all 4 "Books of chaos" but due to the modifeid release schedule he has had to shifthis focus to the nook of tTzeentch for now. More details on the other gods should come through soon

THIRD UPDATE!
After seeing the following post on Faeit212 (http://natfka.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/khorne-codex-supplement-with-cover-art.html) I asked my source if he could coment on its authenticity, he said the rules were all wishlisting but the cover image is legit, he sent me the following image as proof:

apparently they have a lot of work already done regarding the four chaos supplements but are just sitting on them until their time in the release schedule comes around

That might be interessting, and i really hope that id does happen, but i'm not seeing this happening.

Know why?

Because ONE book supplement for 2 ARMIES, ain't gonna Happen, that would be money loose in GW eyes.

it will be more liekely that we Get a CSm AND a Deamon supp book, each at 40$, but only one for both armies, thats not wishfull thinking, its Fantasy dreaming.

Please please be true! This would actually be a massive cash cow for GW as in order to play 1 army you would need 2 codexes and a supplement! Screw carrying that around every game lol

So the only real effect is that taking both types of units doesn't use up your allies selection? Is that really that amazing or necessary to have an entire book for?

The supplement books are an excuse to give the artists work, not the rules developers. They just know they'll actually sell the books if they include two pages of rules.

They aren't expensive rules supplements. They are background supplements that contain a smidge of rules.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

What would CD even get as allies? They are far more direct in being mono compared to any other race.

Unless it'd be like Book of Khorne Daemons, which I honestly wouldn't doubt.

1 supplement for 2 armies doesn't sound greedy, but 4 supplements for 1 army does sound greedy. Players with a massive chaos collection now need 6 books to play, and we are total sucker chumps willing to dish out the cash. Chaos players are like beasts of nurgle, anytime we get attention from GW we react like it's good attention. Shut up and take my money.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

Why would you need 6? You can only use one supplement at a time!

rumour has little credibility as outlined by others above, but i think it's a cool idea nontheless. I'd definitely get the tzeentch one if it were released.

Ah Dakka the place where you can come to share something you have heard, with or without foundation but none the less where members line up to kick you in the face and tell you your full of crap. And should your little nugget of knowledge come to pass they don't have the stones to man up and admit it or god for bid offer an apology, cuz we all know more then you. Its a wonder any one even tries to share any more.

Don't see why this is such a stretch. Its very similar to the older dex that allowed sacred numbered units to have all sorts of perks with favored packs of deamons, as well as not deviate when deep striking etc. the inclusion of the fantasy, with the distinction that it would indeed be four books seems like a more logical approach than doing 8 books. I hope something close to this does happen, it might be fun.

come on guys do we have to pelt every guy who makes a new account with labels and upturned noses just because its the geek fashion thing to do? If he is wrong hes wrong and nothing changes, if hes right yeah for us. A little more tolerance would make these thread a lot more pleasant to read. Please?

Dial down the condescension/outrage there pal. I'm simply saying that he has no history and that that makes it pretty unlikely. The others are merely providing skepticism for a completely unknown poster. As for not giving him credit, the Rumor Tracker specifically 'man's up' and admits that he is right. Does he deserve an apology? Not really. He pays his dues as a rumor monger and posts things and builds up cred (positive and negative). That's how everyone has done it (even hastings started somewhere).

I agree that people can be nicer, but I don't agree that simply putting out whatever you want re: rumors is okay. Garbage rumors are still garbage rumors. See Ghost21 and TheDarkGeneral. They constantly tried/try to draw attention by posting outlandish stuff and ultimately were just making crap up. We don't need that.

I'm really really wishing for this to be true. I run a (very fluffy, not all that competitive) CSM army with Traitor IG allies. I love it, but the only problem is then I can't take Bloodletters or a Bloodthirster, which would not only be nice and fluffy, but would add a bit more balance and competitiveness to my force.

I think faeit212 linked this, albeit with a disclaimer. I dunno if everyone just wants it to happen so badly that we don't listen to reason or something.

Ah! Stop giving me dreams! I know they are only there for GW to crush them!

I remember when we got our book. Daemon players said, "Master has given Dobby a codex! Dobby is free!"

And it wasn't a good codex, what with all the random crap in it. But we still tried to appreciate it. We found the diamonds and wondered at them while Eldar got semi-rending basic guns and tau got Riptides.

Teasing us into thinking we are worthy of not zero supplements but four would be mean.

Hold my "condescension/outrage" way too often as it is over the last 7 or years I have been on Dakka there pal. Each year more an more people seem to hide behind their PC and spout out what ever they want to who ever they want with no regard for manners or common ( now uncommon) courtesy, "Does he deserve an apology? Not really" fine example right there of now uncommon courtesy, you do someone wrong your supposed to apologize for it. At least that is how I believe most people were brought up. Thanks for helping me make my point. While this thread is just starting and by no means out of hand for Dakka it appears it could heading that way. I am simply stating my own objection to the all too common knee jerk reaction to flame a post ( not even this one in particular) just because you don't thing the rumor is valid, and heaven forbid your new or have a low post count that just makes you all the more suspicions and untrustworthy? Really!?

High horse is high.

Its more along the lines that the 50.00 codex is that bad that they need to rewrite 4-6 more books to shill to the masses. Not much of a rumor, more of expected news that was pretty much a given.

If you get a chance to pick up Lost and the Damned, and Slaves to Darkness.... You have already seen the future. Only in four or six books instead of a high quality hard back with a metric gak ton of fluff and rules.

Whats old will be new again.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. Welcome to the internet. It has been this way since Eternal September and has shown no sign of reversing course.

, "Does he deserve an apology? Not really" fine example right there of now uncommon courtesy, you do someone wrong your supposed to apologize for it.

Except nothing wrong has been done. Are we apologizing for things that weren't wrong then? Sorry!

You have a realllllly low threshold for flaming. Nothing in this thread is even CLOSE to flaming.

Just saying it would be nice to read something that wasn't full of that detritus all the time.

I hear magazines are nice. Also, books. If you go on to a discussion board though, you're bound to find discussion. As with most discussions, there will be good and bad. You filter through it, ignore the particularly nasty ones, hit the little yellow triangle for people who break rules and generally enjoy yourself. Or you give yourself a stroke trying to right the wrongs of the world. Whatever floats your boat.

Back to the original topic, however, I think the rumors have about a 50/50 of coming true. If he is proven right, then he will enjoy the benefits of having a good record. If not, he will fade into obscurity. Much with any profession that relies on prognostication.

I don't want to get into the creditability debate on the rumor, but from a power scale, I think this would be hard to stomach. The last thing I want to see is 2 units of 10 cultists with 2 bloodthirsters, 3 heldrakes and 3 demon princes. That is before allies mind you. Ally with Black Legion and grab 4th demon prince and a 4th drake, awesome....

Typical Dakka users becoming melodramatic over "rumors", of all things.

If this is true, I'm looking forward to seeing what they will do. I don't have high hopes after the Chaos marine book, however it should at the very least be interesting.
