Tactics are pretty simple. Get the kroot to some trees any way possible and hide all game. Hide the ethereal in the corner as well or with the kroot. Keep the pathfinders in cover all game so they don't die to a stiff breeze and mark any targets the riptides need to kill. Farsight DS with the crisis suits on any suitable tank/MC/Heavy Infantry. The riptides do what riptides do and be huge durable bricks that dish out heavy firepower. Ion accelerators focus ground units while the burst cannons focus on AA.

O'Vesa's Earth Caste system is not counted against the 1-per-army rule, so give the burst cannon riptide the Earth Caste Pilot and have fun with that

I'm not sure how well this list will do though, so if you build it and play it then that would be interesting.

Alright so I dropped the target lock off of the crisis suit, then the velocity tracker and EWO off a HBC Riptide for the ECPA on him

I disagree, signature items = one per army, doesn't matter if you chose to buy it or if a special character came with one.

I thought about doing the 5 riptide list too, but a couple things struck me:

1) small amount of scoring units

2) 5 riptides is like 300 bucks of models.

3) I like having friends and people to play the game against.

The only time I would ever run this in a friendly game would be against a SW player and even then I probably wouldn't

The farsight supplement is poorly worded. It says that the signature system rule does not apply to the seven, but it is unclear exactly what "rule" it is referring to.

Is it referring to the fact that some of the IC have Tau Codex signature systems? Is it referring to the fact that you can only take one signature system per army?

Until it is FAQd, i would assume it means that it's ok for the IC to have Tau Codex signature systems, and not that they're signature systems themselves do not count towards the limit.

The Farsight supplement specifically states that they can.

I am using the farsight enclave supplement and the tau empire codex, not 2 of the same codex.
