hey guys, been trying to do a gaming board for a while for my warhammer 40k armies

This is my 4'x4' so far, trying to expand it to 4'x6' by adding another section. However the colours just don't seem that right.... is there any suggestions you guys can make?

The board is meant to be less contoured because I keep my terrain and battlefield debris separately so I can store this under my bed

many thanks in advance!

Looks good dude, but it may look a bit too healthy, perhaps if you added some scorch marks and different shades of brown throughout it would look more natural for a battlefield?

I think it looks good. The only comment I could make is that the light green parts look too small and patchy. Maybe connect some of them together?

you need to take some of your flock/grass, and mix it together for the transitional points. the contrast is too sharp. A few points of sharp contrast are okay, but usually, having blend will make it easier on the eyes.

the fluffy bushy tufts are a mistake. They add to complications of stacking/storing, and make some terrain placement difficult.

past that, the only thing I can think of is to surround the patches of dirt with dead grass, again, adding some blending around that to make the transition smooth.

To glimpse the future, you must look to the past and understand it. Names may change, but human behavior repeats itself. Prophetic insight is nothing more than profound hindsight.

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.
