there are a number of models I've reposed now, and I've now got no idea what the gak i'm supposed to do with the models now.

I've subjected kaladrax's wing to the boiling water treatment, adjusted the wing angle, and applied cold water three times now, and rediscovered, yet again, that the damn wing is drooping so low that the wing-bones are again scraping the ground with the dragon on the base. On the third time I went as far as waaaaaayyyyyyy over-adjusting it expecting it to droop, just, not as low... and yet it's like I never even changed it.

I've got some other dudes I've done the same thing to as well, only to discover them in ridiculous precarious and incorrect positions the next day.

Shy of throwing these in the fire and pretending I never wanted nor owned the specific bones models in question, what solutions can people suggest?

It doesn't matter how bloody far the apple falls from the tree. If the apple fell off of a Granny Smith, that apple is going to grow into a Granny bloody Smith. The only difference is whether that apple grows in the shade of the tree it fell from.

Well one way is to add wire armatures.. Granted this is a time consuming ordeal, but it will help stop the drooping your having.. Even some resin models need a small armature in certain places to keep them from breaking or drooping..

You could always just cut the bits off and glue them on in a different position. That's what I did with my zombies when they started reverting to their original doofy pose.

see, i'm just concerned that if i cut and repose, the first thing that is going to happen is it will start drooping again until it touches the ground and there's a point of transfer of weight along one of the wing bones where it touches the ground..... Kaladrax is sexy, but i'm really starting to go nuts with that one bloody wing. I'm wondering if i shouldn't just create a custom 2-foot by 2-foot square base with a pile of rubble to elevate him up higher.....

It is a bit of trial and error anytime time you get a new material, but PVC is workable well enough.

I have assembled mine and so far the wings are staying where I put them. I boiled them for a good 10 minutes though till they were nice and soft then a laid them down in a pan with lego supports to keep it from sagging where I didnt want it to. Then I put that off to the side for day or so. The next day, I assembled it and put him on the shelf where it sits till I figure out how to paint him.

Previously I had had more problems with Pegasus's Vermithrax. I had reposed her to be in a more upright pose, and the thinner wings didn't want to stay up. In that case, I carefully heated some straight steel wire and inserted it. Took a bit of time of heating and pushing, removing, heating and pushing some more till I got the wires in far enough. I have seen other people cut a channel, puf wire in and then seal it in place with putty, but I didnt feel like messing with that. The bones on big K wouldnt be nearly as problematic, and if you put them on the bottom of the wing they would be less noticeable.
