A while ago I aquired a copy of the 1984 Warhammer 2nd edition Fantasy Battle Rules and I was wondering if it held any particular value? I've looked around on the internet but haven't found any others for sale. I believe the set is complete and also includes an extra book titled "Blood Bath at Orc's Drift." I have included a picture of the contents (there are a large number of extra card figure not shown.) It is in very good condition overall, considering its age, with only light wear to the edges of the box. The four books and the map appear to have never really been used at all.



I just wondered if it was worth selling since I won't really use it but if it isn't valuable I'll keep it as a piece of GW history!

They don't seem to go for a consistent amount on eBay. Some times they get bid up a lot, some times not. If you're on Facebake, I'd recommend joining the group called Oldhammer and asking their toughts as they are 1E through 3E players and collectors.

That's the edition I started on, I had bloodbath (a campaign) and also mcdeath (another campaign). Have to say that I can't see value being more than £20 or so, it's not like you'll find people playing it.

This is a priceless piece of history, the foundation upon which GW is built today, and you would consider it the same value as 2 plastic-skull tape measures?

Now there's a motivation that I can understand!

2nd was the edition that I first played - McDeath was a wonderful lark. Wish to heck that I still had it.

3rd edition remains my favorite - mine is now in a three ring binder, after the original binding failed. Each page in a protector....

I played it a couple of weeks ago - still a fun game, but gods above and below, you have to fiddle with balance!

The Auld Grump, I think that the reason that I still prefer it is the magic system - it feels more like magic to me than pulling cards from a deck.
