If you go through the general and rules discussion over at the mantic forums

I did some playtesting of my own during the alpha, and it seemed pretty fun. The board feels claustrophobic, and that's probably a good thing. Theres fun stuff like tossing grenades and throwing units around. Models firing back and forth is largely ineffective, unless you work to stack a bunch of bonuses in your favor. You've gotta aim, use a card, or possibly get a clear shot if you want to actually kill your target. Heavy and special weapons are a different case of course.
Everything I heard while the kickstarter was going on implied that games were very quick even if you were shaky on the rules, and the new stuff appears to have done nothing to change that. With 8
VP being the current win target, some missions will be ending the game by turn 4, if not earlier. Players will be in control of the pace a little as well by using their cards quicker.
