I'd say maybe also complete the theme off the skull and have some tubing come from the mask around and then into the back of the robe as well. Like this a little.

Yeah, I have been trying to work something out for the face that would also not make it impossible to move my head.

one thing you can do to the servo skull, depending on it's weight, is rip apart an RC helicopter kit.... if you're smart with electronics and programming, you can make that thing fly circles around you. as you walk.

Yeah funny you should say that. Friend and I were discussing that same thing. Maybe in the future I will come up with a way to make it fly. I did rig up a RC car and had some tubing lifting the skull up but it was too top heavy to turn.

the other thing I heard to hide the blades was to contain the lift mechanicsm in the skull...... My understanding of mechanics however says that that wouldn't really work unless you had some way for air to move around....

I'd suggest for you to go to a shop and get some sealing wax. Even if you don't end up using it, it'd let you experiment with it. What I know is that it doesn't look right on what you have there. It should look more marbled than oiled/crisped, since the carbonized elements will blend with the wax as it cools. Then again, that depends on how much you care for "getting it real", so only a suggestion.

If you do catch yourself redoing these, maybe a numbered seal on the skull face? in binary?

Im not sure how easy it would be to add small details to my custom stamp. That would look pretty neat though. As far as I can tell from images I looked up of actual wax seals the color is pretty close.

That room is too bright for a grimdark universe. Seriously though, excellent costume.
