Hi everyone,

I've posted here before about my dice bags, and have messaged the mods about the best place and way to create a thread. Hence, this place, where I'll hopefully be posting news and such.

That said, if you're not familiar, I create high quality dice bags for both roleplayers and wargamers and anyone else who might need a cool pouch to keep stuff in. Runes, yarn, gaming tokens, whatever takes your fancy. All of my dice bags with the exception of the recently released "Mini" will hold about 150 dice, depending on how big those dice are. I tried to make them roomy enough for even most ork and IG players, and I know wargaming often takes a ton of dice. Most of my dice bags measure about 5" tall when open, with a 4" square base, and sit open on the tabletop to make it a little easier to grab your dice and keep them contained without needing to spill them all over the table. I also do screen printed dice bags of various sorts, and can do custom jobs as long as the image isn't too complex.

Anyways, my dice bags can be found at Greyed Out on Etsy. I make all of these myself, it's a one-person operation. Big, huge THANK YOU to all the members of Dakkadakka; you guys are awesome.

With the recent new releases, I've been in a frenzy making orc-themed dice bags:

I also have a few more examples of custom dice bags:

I quite like that second one . I've been considering getting one of your bags for a while, are the ones pictured on Etsy the actual bag for sale, or just one of that type?

Thanks! That Dungeon Map bag is hugely popular. The ones pictured in the "For Sale and Ready to Ship" section are the actual dice bags; the ones I make to order will also look like their pictured counterparts for the most part; I have no issues restocking the various cottons. The suede is a little more difficult, because I think the various colors are more seasonal - darker and more natural suedes in winter/fall, and brighter colors in summer, for example. I do try my best to keep the same colors, and change the images when I can't. Does that help?

I got a couple of these bags last year, and they're indeed very good. The only thing is they weren't big enough for either my or my wife's dice collection, so I'll need to buy another pair of them. He offered to make another one for me in any size I like, but I got sidetracked - might be time to try and work it out again...

Those are some nice looking Dice bags you make.

I'm not really familer with dicebags and prices there of, but $30 dollars or less seems fairly cheap for a hand made dicebag.

I've got one on Mr. Grey's bags (as do the other 7 folks of my Adepticon team), and it is wonderful!

I love the one that is a portion of a map from middle earth.

Thanks guys! That's the priciest non-custom bag I currently make, partly because the fabric is $$$, and because since it's a map, I have to cut carefully to make sure that there are at least a couple of neat map pieces on the dice bag - even Middle Earth has lots of empty spaces.

In other news: I have an "Armored Fist" dice bag in the works, pictures should be coming either later tonight or early tomorrow.

What would that cost with doubled capacity? As in - same proportions, but bigger enough to hold double the amount of dice?
That'll cover my wife. I need to figure out which one I'll need...

Azazelx - so you're basically thinking something that'll hold about 300 dice? Give or take? I can play with the measurements a little bit and maybe work out a quick prototype for you. I've found that once you go above a certain size, they tend to look more like dice buckets than dice bags. Capacity also increases exponentially with a bigger base size I think, as going from a 4" square base to a 5" square base adds quite a bit of volume, if that makes sense?

Maybe a 5" base and a 7" or so would do it...

My normal size bag actually doesnt hold all my dice either. Using 16mm fills it up quite quick. That and I'm a dice hoarder.

Good point. I split my dice collection between d6's and Everything Else, if only to make my d6's a little easier to lug around... The d6's are in my wargaming dice bag that travels to the LGS, and the Everything Else is in a dice bag on my bookshelf.

Is there a desire for a Bag of Hefty Capacity? I own less than 200 dice, so I wouldn't be able to fill it to capacity to test it out, but I'm happy to sew one.

If you can come up with a hefty bag we can do custom orders of, I'm sold.

I was worried that the "Armored Fist" bag only had the blue option but I see there is a yellow option as well. Awesome!

Ok, got a Dice Bag of Hefty Capacity done up. This bad boy measures 7" tall with a 5" square base. Ork boy for size comparison.

The second image is my own dice collection, about 150 dice, which fills the bag maybe 1/3 of the way.

That is gigantic! Personally, I think I'd prefer to split my dice if I had that many, but it seems others prefer them all in one place

Looks good. Though I'm looking more at double the capacity of a standard one, rather than double the dimensions (which would hold a lot more than double).

My wife's Greyed Out bag is full. It can close, but it's full.

Mine is a bit over full - the top drawstrings won't close properly anymore. I've got my "nice" dice in there. I keep my specialised 40k dice in a small red Chessex Bag, my FoW dice sets in the tins they come in (along with the counters), and my Bolt Action dice in a small green Chessex Bag. Then I've got a few zip-lock bags filled with my "old" dice, and the second tier. My game dice (ie, those that come in boxed games) are left inside those games, and my "weirdo" dice (Edge of the Empire, etc) are in a little plastic case. And my Dakka Dice which just arrived, are sitting in a plastic box, temporarily. Obviously, they need to go into the "good" dice bag... so I need a new one, slightly bigger.

I'm going to use the jumbo hefty bag as a mass storage device, with my normal bag as my go bag.

I'd like to get a 1.5x or 2x capacity bag as my normal bag, and then use the existing pair of 1x bags we have to store the other stuff in. I've got a ton of those little GW dice that come in their boxed games somewhere as well, come to think of it...

Have you thought about a compartmentalised bag Mr. Grey?

So I ordered my armored fist bag the other day and I am pretty excited about it, my other bag came apart at the seams.

With that "Hefty Bag" it has other uses.. while you're using all your dice you can wear it like a helmet!

Got my bag, love it!I can't believe you want bigger, though- it's almost too big for my dice, and they filled my old bag.

Thanks
